Getaway from the city and spend quality time with family and friends, while enjoying the experience of a lifetime at this Texas ranch. Rockn Rowdy Ranch is a unique vacation destination in Leona, TX half way between Houston & Dallas. Located on 100 private acres with horses, ponds, zebra, donkeys, miniature cows, peacocks, llamas, Scottish Highland cows and many more. We are located half way between Dallas & Houston, an hour north of The Woodlands and an hour east of Bryan, TX.

Come experience a Texas ranch the way it was intended - on horseback! Our cowboys will help you saddle one of our beautiful horses and allow as much instruction or assistance as needed for you to have a comfortable and memorable ride. Your safety and comfort are of utmost importance to us. We cater to all skill levels. Once mounted your adventure begins. You will be guided throughout parts of our beautiful 100 acre ranch.

If riding horses isn’t your thing, there are other activities you and your family can enjoy that will let you experience the unique adventure at RRR. There is something here for every animal lover.

An exciting experiences for the whole family is the covered wagon feed and ride. You will watch in awe as many of the animals run behind the wagon for feeding time. During this activity you will feed the animals from the safety of the covered wagon. This is a unique adventure you will truly enjoy! Our cowboy will explain about the different animals and answer any questions you may have.

Bring your fishing gear and relax fishing on the lake. Bass, catfish, perch and crappie are ready to be caught and released. If fishing isn’t for you, there is kayaking or paddle boarding paddle boat and floats for you to enjoy.

Come cool off in our Farm to Market pool, for your private use at the ranch house Our cowboy pool is a 10' galvanized steel stock tank pool. It is 2' deep and perfect for adults & children to have fun and cool on in. Our pool is available starting Memorial Day weekend.

The house has an enclosed back deck where you will enjoy your morning coffee, a beautiful afternoon relaxing, and fantastic sunsets while watching our family roam the exotic pasture and pose for amazing pictures. It is also the perfect place to gather with friends for a birthday party, anniversary, or reunions or a corporate retreat. Please inquire with the host for your event.

We enjoyed our stay. My 8 year old animal lover keeps asking when we can go back. Highlights were bottle feeding the baby goats and sheep, riding the ponies and horses, golf cart rides, feeding the animals, and getting up close to the animals.

Perfect lowkey getaway
Perfect getaway for a group of 3 friends. Clean and neat, nice country feel. We loved the location, great central location for travel. Absolutely loved the animals and to be up close. Staff was amazing and attentive to our needs. Highly recommend this destination for any gathering.

We all felt unsafe. The property was a mess and the animals looked malnourished. There was a dead duck at the pond. The deer was super creepy. The dirty dogs went in the house, and they could not get them out. It looked like the people just left the house for you to stay in. The poor zonkey was tied to walker and looked like he had been there a long time all matted up. The people are super friendly but not exactly what we expected. It will be an expensive experience we will never forget. We second guess when we book VRBO now.

Awesome ranch with dogs, cattle, longhorn, horses, ponies, donkeys, peacocks, deer, birds, emu etc. and a baby kangaroo as well. There are more than 350 birds and animals. Animal lovers will adore this place. We went in December for 2 nights with family and friends. VRBO was great with booking experience. Some glitches with itinerary updates and chats. It was slow. Everyone had tons of fun at the ranch and house. Plan to take food or groceries if you don’t want to drive out again. Although, Centerville(city nearby) has got all that you would need. Check in is 4 pm, so try to reach earlier (especially in winter) to make use of the daylight.Susan the host, Ethan the guide and Cowboy are great. They are very humble and their hospitality was amazing. Susan got a taste of Indian ginger tea which my friend and his wife are experts. House is maintained well with all the amenities. Mornings are greeted by birds and deer which come near the house.. Myriad of activities feed rides, paddle boating, horseback riding, skeet shooting, miniature pony rides. These are charged as guide, animals and equipment are involved. Fishing (catch and release)can be done at leisure. You need to bring your own gear. The four big mountain dogs need special mention. They protect the ranch and the people inside. We have never seen such friendly dogs. Kids got immediately attached. Evening lights and sun are feat to the eyes. Nights are soothing with mesmerizing view of stars. We used the fire pit where kids made s’mores. We left in morning with a heavy heart and felt we could do more, spend more time the ranch. Since then, Once every few days we remember and discuss the activities and fun we had. We will be going back for sure sometime. Unforgettable experience.

Amazing experience
What a wonderful experience. We had 4 adults and 4 children (ages 10,14,14,16) and stayed in the Ranch house. The Ranch House sleeps 6 comfortably so we did have to use a pull out couch, kids didn’t seem to mind. The property is wonderful. We woke up every day with deer, emu, goats and pigs walking around the porch waiting to say good morning. We rented golf carts to easily enjoy the animals and property. The amazing Ethan and Rowdy set up skeet shooting for us, Randy took us on a horse back ride through the whole property. We fished in the pond and took advantage of the row boat, kayaks and paddleboat. The sweet Crystal was available anytime to help us with anything we needed. We even had the pleasure of sitting with Sue and chatting one afternoon on the porch. Everyone was so warm and welcoming. Feeding all the amazing animals was a huge hit! Where else do zebra, Buffalo, cows, deer, emu’s, goats, ducks, chickens, mini horses, ponies etc walk right up to you and eat out of your hand. They were all so gentle and loving. The fact that the kids ages 10-16 all had a blast says a lot. Moody teens can be hard to entertain, but they loved riding around the property and hanging with the animals. We were blown away by Ethan! Ethan is a teen himself and works the property and was so helpful. Our kids enjoyed learning from him and even helping out with his tasks for the day. Centerville is right up the road with plenty of restaurants to pick from. Madisonville is also near by with more restaurants and a Walmart. We highly recommend this ranch. This is definitely a trip none of us will forget. Thank you to Sue, Rowdy, Crystal, Randy and Ethan. Keep doing what you’re doing!
