Great staff @ Fulton and King's Courtyard! They really take care of you. Fantastic location. So much is within easy walking distance.

The Fulton Lane Inn is more quaint and personable than a regular hotel. We stayed there five nights. I liked the history of the Inn. If you like historical buildings, this would be a nice place to stay. The lobby is small with a concierge that takes the time to talk to you. All of the staff are exceptional. They have cold bottled water available right by the front door. They have wine and cheese availabe from 5:00-6:00 p.m. at the hotel right next door. You can sit in their courtyard. At 6:00 p.m., Fulton Lane Inn puts out a dry and sweet sherry for the rest of the night. They will bring continental breakfast items to your room that you choose the previous night. It is in the shopping and antique district, and is within walking distance to many restaurants and sites. I would stay there again.

I liked the location, the happy hour and the man that checked us in. Did not like the breakfast and the musty smell in the room.

Somehow friendly staff...the room was not very clean as expected for a small hotel. The location is perfect, and even though it is in the heart of downtown, there was no noise in the room at all.

Lovely location, but disappointing experience.

Pros: The bed was comfortable
Cons: Everything mentioned in the experience column.
We love the old world charm of this hotel and the location can't be beat, but we were overall disappointed with the experience. Firstly, the air conditioning leaves a lot of be desired. At night, it was either blowing like a wind tunnel into the room and would become freezing during the time it was on, and then once it shut off, it would not come back on until the room was too warm again. It was loud and woke us up each time it came on during the night. Secondly, there was a constant drip from the air vent and the exhaust vent in the bathroom, which first soaked my husbands dap kit and was a constant drip on our heads when standing in front of the sink. Once we reported it to management, they came in while we were out to dinner and simply turned the HVAC completely off as a solution. When we returned, we turned the system back on and the drip continued. No concessions were offered by the hotel for our inconvenience. Also, although the continental breakfast was in a lovely venue, the second morning, the kitchen was completely understaffed. The breakfast room and courtyard were full of people and there was only one waiter to serve all the tables. Many people were getting frustrated that they could not even get served a cup of coffee, much less get breakfast ordered. The poor guy trying to please everyone was in a "No Win" situation.

Great Experience

The Fulton Lane Inn is very charming. It is located in one of Charlston's historic buildings and has been beautifully renovated. It is in the center of the historic district which enabled us to walk to all of our excursions. The room was very comfortable and the staff was very helpful. We couldn't have asked for a better stay!
