My check in time was 4:00pm, did get to check in until 4:45pm. Other than that it was very service!

Not the room I paid for!

I paid for a 2 queen suite room with a separate living area with pull out sofa bed. I checked in and was given room keys for a 2 queen bed handicap room. No sofa. No bathtub. No separate living area. I went to the front desk since to try to resolve the issue. It was myself, my husband and 3 kids (2 are teenagers!) I was told they had no rooms left and we would have to stay in that room or be refunded and try to find a room elsewhere in Charleston...in the summer...at 5pm. They knew it was near impossible. I asked if I was being charged the same amount and was told they couldn't give it to me for any less because it was booked through travelocity. They called travelocity and the only solution they gave was a refund (so again, no room!) that wouldn't be back in my bank for 2 days! We ended up being stuck with a room that should have cost HALF what we paid. They didn't care at all to try to come to a fair agreement and take care of what happened. I will NEVER book through travelocity again. Also will never stay at Hilton garden! I feel like they stole money from us. They never tried to fix the issue and only pushed the blame off onto travelocity. All around terrible service from both companies.

Hotel by the highway not "waterfront"

First hotel is not truly "waterfront". Hotel staff not very helpful. Called at 12pm to inquire about possibility of early checkin and was told "no problem we will put you on priority to check in early and call you. 2 and a half hours later went to check and no one was at desk for at least 10 minutes until another staff member went behind partition and told them people were waiting to be helped. Was told that room was still not ready and that it was cleaned but still "had to be checked by a manager to make sure it was pristine". I said oh ok well how long should that be and was told "at least an hour". Seriously an hour!?! So since we were on the "priority" request for an early check in we got into our room at 3:37....23 minutes early. I booked a deluxe king room "with a view". We had a view of some Palm trees and the parking lot. Room decent but nothing special. Dirt in the corners in the bathroom. Guess the manager missed that on making sure our room was pristine. So disappointed. I paid $289 for this room and could have stayed at The Harbor View Inn for $319. My bad....oh and don't think your walking to downtown unless you want to cross 6 lanes of traffic and hop a road barrier and walk 30 plus minutes to get to the real downtown. Seriously like I wasted $340 dollars.

Reconsider

I was told there was no airport shuttle after I confirmed it when I booked. Front desk clerk was surly. I have stayed in better Hilton's although the 4th floor deck is very nice.
