Paid for room with credit card but was informed the room security deposit was required to be in cash. Credit and debit cards were not acceptable. This is corporate policy and dont care if you dont like it. Insane. Had to travel 30 minutes round trip in traffic to reach my bank and make a withdrawal for a cash deposit before they qluld let us have the room. NEVER going to stay there again.

First, let me apologize to you. I know how this can be frustrating when traveling. Unfortunately, we do ask for a cash deposit for incidentals when a reservation is made through a 3rd party or paying cash. If you can call me directly I would like to speak to you about it further. I hope you can reconsider staying with us when traveling to Charleston.

Roach way Inn

Not even 24 hours after arrival we started to see the roaches on the walls in the drawers and then the light fixtures. They wanted to move me to another room and I declined because I know that would not solve the problem. We had to carefully shake out and inspect each piece of our clothing and belongings to make sure we didn't pack them up in our suitcases as we left. For a refund they did want proof of the roaches at first until I told them how ridiculous that was. I was interrupting and being inconvenienced on my vacation, why would I lie about roaches? I ended up going back to the room and bringing them a live roach to the front desk. Also the pool that my daughter looked forward to getting in was closed while were there due to ants.

Avoid this hotel

Pros: Nothing at all
Cons: Rooms, staff, and in general everything.
When we arrived at the hotel, we were directed to our room. When I opened the door, I saw that the room had not even been cleaned. Went back to the office and was given another room. We went to that room and opened the door and was greeted by a moldy smell in the room. Tried watching television, but the unit was broken. The desk lamp was broken. Took a shower and had to stand in 4 inches of water because the drain did not work correctly. The box springs were stained, ripped and had holes in them. I turned down the blanket, which had stains on it, and found the sheets were wrinkled and the same with the pillow cases. It appeared that the beds were already used. I called the front desk at 9:00p.m. and asked to have the repairs made. I was told that the maintenance man would be right up to take care of everything. At 11:00p.m. I called and told the person at the desk to cancel the repairs as we were tired of waiting. In the middle of my conversation with the desk person, she disconnected the call. I was on my cell phone because the phone in the room did not work. I have stayed in many hotels and this place by far is the worst that I have ever seen. It was dirty, smelled of mold and was a dump. We stayed the one night and packed our bags. AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS.

Terrible place to stay

When I booked this place, I called first and checked that they had wireless access in every room because I was taking a working vacation. But when I got there, there was no internet access, not even in the lobby. I inquired about this to see if they could help me and they said they couldn't help me. Then the next day we needed some clean towels and they said they were out so we had to use our beach towels. Then when we were in the pool, my wife started talking to another lady and she confessed that the management accidentally gave them our room key and when they went into the room they could see that the room was taken already. If this couple had been dishonest, they could have stolen two laptops we had in the room. This motel is run by a bunch of incompetents!!! Find another place to stay!!!

Awful, dingy motel

There were several things wrong with this motel. First, when I made the reservation, I specifically requested nonsmoking. I got a smoking room instead. The smoke ended up wreaking through all my clothes. The bed covers felt sort of slimy. The bathtub wasn't very clean. There were holes in the wall in the bathroom. One redeeming thing: the staff was excellent. The girl who checked me in called me in my room to let me know I had accidentally left my credit card at the front desk.

Good for the money

Was not expecting a lot from reviews. Was pleasantly surprised. Clean, no bugs, hotel is old, but clean. Only complaint was there were only 3 pillows for a king bed. When I asked for another the person at the counter said that a king only comes with 3 and house keeping had left for the day. It was only around 3pm. Found that odd. Other than that the place is fine and safe. GREAT location, tons of restaurant options. Can call to like 6 or 7 restaurants including Denny's accross the street. Would stay there again.

Great Hotel and a great price!!

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
We stayed the weekend at this hotel and loved it. Everyone was friendly. Breakfast was great!! Rooms were clean and location was wonderful!!

Cheap and clean!

Pros: Close restaurants
My husband and I took off on our motorcycle one weekend. The hotel was a little further off the beaten path than what we thought but we loved the scenery. The hotel staff were very accomodating and friendly. The hotel room was clean and affordable. We would definitely staff here again.

I and my party of 2, stayed at this hotel in North Charleston, SC for 3 days from July 3rd-6th and I was sooooo angry!!! Not only did they NOT honor my reservations when we arrived, but they had my reservation for the wrong day (the next day) and made me pay upfront for the night we arrived. Then they gave us a no-smoking room when I asked for a smoking room. Then they took the extra towels back when we asked for them because there were 3 of us. Then, wait a minute I'm not done yet, the room was F-U-N-K-Y. It smelled like mold and mildew. Then, the bathroom door was rotten and began to break off in pieces every time we closed and opened the door in the bathroom. And finally, the bed leaned to the left and was very, very uncomfortable. I will NEVER, NEVER, EVER stay here again no matter what. I don't care if they put a Country Hearth Hotel on Donald Trump's estate, I would not stay at another Country Hearth Hotel. They are the absolute WORST. My advice to anyone considering staying here...DON'T STAY HERE, PLEASE!!!!!!

Good Place to Stay

The location is ideal for getting around Charleston area. The employees were very helpful and knowledgeable about directing you to the places you wanted to go. It was a good experience for me, being it was my first time to the Charleston area. Would definitely stay there again.
