Flight Review

Dec 24, 2019

Thank you. The trip was great. I did have a challenge knowing where to check my bag back in in Lima, but that is fine

Oct 23, 2019

Was great landing!

Jul 27, 2019

Traffic in Lima is crazy and we got caught in gridlock for 30+ minutes. We missed our flight and had to rebook for later in the day. Overall it worked out but maybe warn travelers that it can take 1.25 hours to get to airport if you’re staying in city.

Jun 15, 2019

Good flight

Nov 28, 2018

friendly people, very nice

Oct 3, 2018

The only negative aspect of my flight was that the seats were incredible uncomfortable and cramped.

Jul 31, 2018

Flight to Cusco from Lima was fine. On the return...NO cancelled flight. Could not get us to our connection in Lima satisfactorily. We had high additional expence with another airline to reslove. I want a refund for the one way flight Peruvian did not provide...$82 American dollars.

Jul 28, 2018

Good flight overall

Jun 22, 2018

I arrived at the airport 5 hours before the flight, in connection, and asked to change into am earlier Avianca flight. They did not agree although there were available seats.

Apr 13, 2018

Seats were terribly uncomfortable.

Mar 11, 2018

We asked if we can get earlier flight instead of wait for the connecting, the staff just happily did so for us. Great help after a long flight.

How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Cusco

Make your flight to Cusco a little bit easier by following these practical security tips:

  • Keep your boarding pass and travel ID in an easily accessible place. They'll be the first things you'll be asked for by security personnel.
  • Belts, wallets and wrist watches must be placed in a tub for X-raying. If you walk into the body scanner with any one of these items, you'll be turned around and requested to remove them.
  • All laptops need to be taken out of their protective carriers and placed in a tub before X-raying.
  • When it comes to flying with liquids or gels, all passengers are allowed a quart-sized clear zip-lock bag to transport containers no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
  • Airport security staff may ask you to remove your shoes prior to entering the body scanner. Wear a pair that you can take off easily. There's nothing worse than having to do up your laces over and over again.
  • The list of prohibited items is forever changing. Have a look at your airline's website to find out what is not allowed on board their flights.

Flights To Cusco

Flights to Cusco land at Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport (CUZ), less than a 10-minute drive from the city center. Nestled in the Andes Mountains in southeastern Peru, Cusco was the ancient capital of the Incan Empire—one of the major pre-Columbian civilizations in the Americas. It was conquered by the Spanish explorer Pizarro in 1533. This Spanish influence is still evident today in the beautiful colonial architecture. Named a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Cusco is an entrancing blend of ancient Incan history Spanish culture that make it definitely worth a visit (or two).

Any of these will put you in a good location from which to explore the region's attractions. Need a lift downtown to the beautiful historical center of Cusco? When you exit the airport, you'll see buses stopping on your right. Locally, these are referred to as combis. Many of these pass through downtown Cusco; just check with the drivers to find out where they're headed. Cabs are also fairly inexpensive, especially as it's such a short trip to town. It's also possible to rent a car if you want more freedom of mobility to visit ruins during your trip to Peru. Make your first stop the storied Plaza de Armas, where you can admire several beautiful old churches and revel in the history that took place just under your feet. Cusco is also the gateway to Machu Picchu, the world-famous Incan ruins, which are considered by many as one the great Wonders of the World.
