Airfares offered on Friday tend to be the cheapest, according to flight demand on Travelocity.ca in 2021. Purchasing your airfares on a Thursday or Saturday can also provide better value, however our advice if you’re looking to save money is to avoid booking on a Wednesday or Sunday. Our data shows that those two days have the highest ticket values on average, so keep this in mind if you’re browsing flight deals.
Frequent travellers may already know this, earlier in the week is often the cheapest time to fly. Flights departing on a Monday are the cheapest of the week. Since flights towards the middle of the week tend to be more popular, this causes the prices to rise. This is why, on average, airfares booked on Travelocity.ca in 2021 were most expensive for Wednesday departures.
Here’s the deal: It is typically possible to start comparing international airfares on Travelocity.ca up to 12 months in advance. However, it does depend on the carrier as not all airlines release their prices that far out. According to our 2021 flight demand trends, last minute planners can still bag a bargain with some of the cheapest fares appearing 2-4 weeks prior to their travel dates.

Situated in the immense Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, Irving is a thriving suburban city in Texas with a host of notable sites, including the Irving Arts Center and the National Scouting Museum. The shopping, dining, and nightlife scenes also rival neighboring cities, and the mix of different cultures gives this cosmopolitan city a unique, welcoming vibe. What's also convenient is that flights to Irving touch down at nearby Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), an immense airfield with all sorts of transportation options.
Many Irving hotels can be reached from DFW in no time, as the airport is just 11 miles from the center of the city. That means you can see the Mustangs of Las Colinas—a wonderful work of art—and other points of interest right after arriving. If you want to have a car for exploring the sprawling Metroplex, then head outside of your terminal's lower level after landing, and board a rental car shuttle bus to the rental car center, where you can arrange a vehicle. If you just want to get to town quickly, then head outside of your terminal's upper level after landing, and hail a taxi (please note that taxis are on the lower level for Terminal D). If you want to take public transportation, head to Terminal A and follow the signs for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Orange Line—this rail service will get you to the heart of Irving cheaply and quickly. Additionally, private shuttles are available, but you may need to book your shuttle ticket before you fly to Irving.
Vacations in Irving are always a blast, so you should start searching for Irving flights here on Travelocity right away. Do you want to save money on your trip?
