How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Kiev

  • Airport security staff will request to see your boarding pass and travel ID as part of their checks. Keep them in a convenient place, ready for inspection.
  • Wallets, belts and power banks must be put in a tub for X-raying. If you walk into the body scanner with these items, you'll be requested to turn back and remove them.
  • Everyday electronics such as tablets, laptops and phones are always sent through the X-ray machine separately. Be sure you can get to them quickly.
  • Flying with a favorite cologne or perfume? As long as it's no greater than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) and it's placed in a clear resealable plastic bag, you can keep it in your hand luggage.
  • Airport security personnel will likely tell you to remove your shoes in preparation for entering the body scanner. Wear a pair that you can slip off easily. There's nothing more annoying than having to do up your laces again and again.
  • The list of prohibited items is forever changing. Have a look at your carrier's official website for what is not allowed on board their flights.
