How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Port of Spain

Your journey to Port of Spain kicks off as soon as you've completed all the security checks. We've compiled a list of useful tips to ensure you get through quickly:

  • Make sure your boarding pass and passport are easy to access. You'll be required to present them straightaway.
  • Take off your shoes and belt before approaching security. Items like these are not allowed to pass through the body scanner.
  • All laptops need to be removed from their carry bags and placed in a tub before being X-rayed.
  • Lip balm, toothpaste and other toiletry items in liquid, gel or cream form need to be stored in containers no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters). They must also fit in a 1-quart (1-liter) clear zip-lock plastic bag.
  • The airport security will likely tell you to take off your shoes before entering the body scanner. Wear a pair that you can take off easily. There's nothing more annoying than having to do up your laces over and over again.
  • Some countries have strict quarantine laws. Consider where you're headed to and whether or not you're allowed to fly with fruit and meats.
