How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Quad Cities

Your journey to Quad Cities starts as soon as you've finished the security checks. Here are a few useful tips to make sure you pass through quickly:

  • Airport security staff will request to see your travel ID and boarding pass at the checkpoint. Have them in an accessible place, so they're ready for inspection.
  • Take off your jewellery, belt and shoes before approaching the airport security checkpoint. Items like these are not permitted in the body scanner.
  • Ensure your electronic devices and laptop are easy to reach. These items need to be put through the X-ray machine in separate trays.
  • When you get to the security checkpoint, you'll be asked to place all creams, gels and liquids in a separate tray for inspection. Make sure they're all packed in containers smaller than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) and sealed in a clear zip-lock bag.
  • Undo your shoelaces as you approach the body scanner. Depending on the type of shoes you've got on, security may tell you to take them off.
  • Some places have stringent biosecurity laws. Consider where you're headed to and whether or not you're permitted to fly with fresh fruit.
