How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Seattle

These clever tips about airport security will save you lots of time and energy on your journey to Seattle:

  • Have your passport and boarding pass somewhere handy. They'll be the first things you'll be asked to produce by airport security staff.
  • Take off your belt, jewellery and shoes before approaching security. Items like these are not allowed to pass through the body scanner.
  • Make sure your electronic devices and laptop are easy to reach. These items need to be put through the X-ray machine separately.
  • When you get to the security checkpoint, you'll be asked to place all liquids, gels and creams in a separate bin for inspection. Make sure they're all in containers no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) and sealed in a clear zip-lock bag.
  • Consider your choice of footwear. Slippers are great because they're a piece of cake to take off when you're doing the airport security checks. Try wearing some on your next flight!
  • Pocketknives and corkscrews are not permitted on board the plane. Stash them away in your checked luggage to avoid leaving them at the airport security checkpoint.
