FAQs about Trinidad Flights

What airport is best to fly into Trinidad?

Trinidad has just one airport. You'll be disembarking at Port of Spain Airport (POS-Piarco Intl.), which is 12 miles (19 kilometers) from the downtown area.

How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Trinidad

Make your trip to Trinidad that little bit easier by reading over these practical security tips:

  • Airport security staff will expect to see your passport and boarding pass as part of their checks. Put them in a convenient place, ready for inspection.
  • You'll have to put your music on pause for a short while. Earphones and headphones must be taken off and placed in a bin to be X-rayed. The same applies to items such as belts and heavy jackets.
  • Laptops must be taken out of their carry bags and placed in a tub before being scanned.
  • Traveling with a new cologne? As long as it's no greater than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) and it's stored in a clear zip-lock bag, you can keep it with you in your hand luggage.
  • Airport security staff may instruct you to remove your shoes for the body scanner. Wear a pair that you can slip off easily. There's nothing worse than having to do up your laces over and over again.
  • Razors and knives are prohibited from entering the plane. Put them in your checked luggage to avoid forfeiting them at the security checkpoint.
