Stunning Beach View Waterfront Home: Kayaks, Boat, Private Dock, Walk to Beach

HURRICANE DORIAN UPDATE; November 25, 2019: We just returned from a week in Abaco to assess, for ourselves, conditions of our house and the area before opening to rentals again. Here’s what we found out: * Our house sustained no damage. After debris clean-up, the Casuarina Point neighborhood is the same as before with the exception of some roof damage on a few houses. * Unfortunately the same cannot be said for Marsh Harbour. Our hearts go out to those who have lost so much. It’s difficult to describe how extensive the damage is after seeing it for ourselves. The clean-up and restoration of Marsh Harbour will be a long and arduous process. * Currently, Marsh Harbour airport is open to domestic flights. We found it easy to connect through Nassau airport. Western and Bahamaair are offering multiple daily flights. Work is progressing to open the airport to international flights; perhaps as early as December. NOTE: As of December 13th, it's our understanding that international flights into MHH have begun. * The town’s largest grocery store, Maxwell’s, reopened and is well stocked. A liquor store is scheduled to open soon. We saw no other retail shopping in Marsh Harbour. * There are limited car rental options currently available. For $50, our new property managers, Jason and Katrinka, will pick you up at the airport, take you to Maxwell’s to get provisions and delver your group to the house. The return trip to the airport is also $50 per group. For those who want to venture outside of the Casuarina Point neighborhood, they have a SUV to rent for the day for $65. * If you choose to rent our Whaler, you can boat across the Sound to the town of Cherokee. There’s a small grocery there with basic provisions ( though no alcohol). * Restaurant options are quite limited. Pete’s Pub in Little Harbour is open. It’s about a 20 minute drive to this popular beach front restaurant/ bar. Forty miles south, in Sandy Point, are a few more restaurants. We’re reopening for rentals beginning December 7th. Based on our experience, we believe people can safely and conveniently travel to Abaco and we invite you to consider staying at Tortuga Point house. Donna and Fred Welcome to your tropical retreat! Stylish and comfortable, Tortuga Point House was completed in 2009. Catch the island breeze out on the open deck while basking in the warm sun and enjoying an unencumbered panoramic view of Cherokee Sound. The house is at the end of the lane, set away from the bustle of Marsh Harbour but not too far from its amenities, it is perfect for that peaceful island vacation! WALK TO THE BEACH! The 8 mile white sand beach of Casuarina Point is only a 7-10 minute walk down two sandy streets, about the equivalent of two city blocks. You can reach the beach even faster by kayak or boat! Two double kayaks are provided for your enjoyment. Adventure even further, or experience the amazing bonefishing, by renting our classic, 1960s 13ft Boston Whaler with electric start motor. The optional boat rental is only $500 for the entire length of your stay. Schools of bone fish are often seen in the canal and occasionally can be caught right off your private dock, just steps from the house! FISHING GUIDES PICK YOU UP AT YOUR PRIVATE DOCK! Arranging a deep sea, bonefish or snorkeling charter? A guide can pick you up from your private dock - with mahi, tuna, wahoo, sailfish and other deep sea fishing less than 10 minutes away. The large windows and vaulted cypress paneled ceiling allows for beautiful views and radiant light throughout the day in the great room and master bedroom. An eclectic mix of artwork is found throughout the house. The great room encompasses the open kitchen, dining and seating areas. The kitchen is fully stocked with an expansive granite island with seating for two. The adjacent dining table seats six. A comfy Tommy Bahama couch and two club chairs face a flat screen television. The patio/ deck combination overlooks the private dock along a canal bordered by mangroves. Under the covered patio, you'll find a dining table with seating for four along with a Ducane grill. Beyond the patio is an open deck; the perfect spot for relaxing with your favorite tropical drink while enjoying the late day sun bouncing off the waters. A separate, private deck is also found off the master bedroom. Fine furnishings include a queen size bed, bureau and flat screen television. There is WI-FI access at the house. Bathroom with uniquely tiled shower and walk in closet complete the master suite. Two additional bedrooms have west facing views over wetlands. Queen size bed, bureau and closet in one. Double futon, closet and flat screen television with DVD player in the other. A second full bathroom with uniquely tiled tub/ shower combo is near the bedrooms. Hotel quality towels and linens provided. The enclosed washer and dryer are adjacent to this second bedroom. Book your stay now for Tortuga Point House - a fabulous get away for small family gatherings, fishing, kayaking, shelling, boating, diving, snorkeling, swimming, beach combing, exploring or just getting away from it all.

Amazing Property
The house is perfectly nestled on a secluded property with amazing views of the sunrise in the master bedroom and living area and view of the sunset in the back rooms. The house is beautiful decorated and has up to date appliances and kitchen tools to meet all of your home away from home needs. The home owners and care takers are very accessible and responsive to your needs. Really enjoyed our stay here. Would recommend to any family visiting Abaco.

A Slice of Paradise
Don't be fooled by the pictures on the is WAY NICER in person, as is the property. Can't say enough about how comfortable the house is and that you can watch sunrise from bed in the master bedroom was wonderful! Donna was such a gracious hostess and super easy to deal with. Caretakers, Jason & Katrinka, couldn't have been nicer or easier to deal with. Fabulous experience.

Amazing house and location
I wanted to take my boys fishing before one heads back to college and the other starts school again. We usually do a trip to the Florida Keys, but this year we branched out. I found this house on VRBO and pulled the trigger. The house was perfect. A room for each of us, beautiful decor, and well appointed kitchen and appliances for the nights we cooked at home. The AC cooled the house down nicely, which is critical when it's so hot outside. The large, outdoor porch was also terrific for drinking a beer in the evening. The location is also incredible. We were completely secluded at the end of a mangrove canal leading to the bay and beach. We took the boat as part of the trip and used it multiple times a day. We fished the bay from one end to the other, made runs to the beach, snorkeled for conch when we needed bait, trolled the canal mouth for barracuda, etc. We were there for a week, and every other day we would make a run into Marsh Harbour for groceries, scuba diving, lunch or dinner. From what people said, I expected the road between Casaurina point and Marsh Harbour to be terrible, but its actually a good road. The trip into town never took more than 20 minutes, which was a breeze. The owners were also fantastic. They gave me a recommendation for a fishing charter (J.R.'s - well worth the money!), rental car (rental wheels - very reasonable prices and decent car), and tons of "do it yourself" fishing advice. So much advice, in fact, that we weren't able to hit all the spots. There were spots I wanted to fish, snorkel, swim, etc. that we just didn't have the time to get to. I guess this is a good excuse to visit again! And, while there was some rain and a few storms, we expect this in the islands and it didn't interfere with our outings. Overall, pretty much everything was perfect. Couldn't have asked for a better end-of-summer trip with my boys!

Great Get Away
This property is a great spot if you want to be away from it all but not so far away that you don't have reasonable access to groceries and restaurants. The property is about 30 minutes from Marsh Harbour and is in a beautiful location. Having the boat and kayak's allows you to explore the area in a different way that only adds to the experience. The property manager and local caretakers were very attentive and made sure we had an excellent stay. Our only issue was having to leave and go back to the real world.

Exceeded our expectations
Abaco feels very safe, is clean compared to other islands, and the people are super nice. The main grocery store is great and you can buy conch, crabs, fish and fruit from local vendors near the KFC. Donna and Fred’s Tortuga Point House is very private but not secluded, spotless, the house/kitchen well equipped (sharp knifes we appreciated) and tastefully decorated, modern, comfortable and much larger than expected. The canal and beach are more beautiful than pictured and this is a fisherman’s paradise. Our 3 boys reached out to Fred about fishing prior to our arrival which secured us some great catches. We caught bone fish, groupers, snappers, sharks and other fish. The kayaks are great for fishing in the canal and we used the Whaler to explore the bay. We had a memorable vacation and we all want to return. Thank you for sharing your beautiful house with us!
