After many trips to Chicago, we have found the Millennium Knickerbocker to be the most consistent, quaint and cozy hotel in / on / near Mag Mile. It's an easy walk to countless quality restaurants and bars. The staff is always too notch and friendly. The historic feel of the hotel just adds to the charm! Would highly recommend.... unless the added demand drives up the reasonable prices.... in which case ignore everything above! (It truly is a gem!)

Overall was nice; the room cozy and the bathroom was beautiful! The room was a little on the warm side our entire stay as there was not AC and I like to sleep cold (but that’s more or less a personal problem). TVs in the room also seem to be a little outdated and slow. Lots of shopping and activities within walking distance and the martini bar in the lobby was very nice as well.

Didn’t feel terribly safe.

There seemed to be quite a bit of nefarious activity as the Chicago Police were on site twice while we were there making arrests of individuals. We were forced to weave through them to leave the property. It’s a historic hotel but I don’t need to revisit as I feel it attracts an unsavory clientele. Check-in was duplicated first online the again at the desk. Even a pre-paid stay required a $100 deposit per night. While stated as a non-smoking hotel, the smell of marijuana was very strong on the elevators. Location is great for Mag Mile shopping and our room was updated. Room was clean upon arrival but we received no housekeeping for even the bed linens or updating the in-room coffee supplies. No in-room refrigerator which was a surprise.
