"I never stayed at the hotel. I was told the morning of my stay that Hotels.com sold a room that didn't exist. Hotels.com, via an online chat, did process a refund. They never provided an explanation of what happen or any comfort that it will not happen again. I asked for a phone number, none were provided. I ended getting a substandard motel 70 miles away. The lack of a voice contact, difficulty to getting to an online chat, no explanation of what happen, no assurance it will not happen again, lack any additional compensation for the mystery error are examples of the totally impersonal approach of modern business. My evaluation of Hotels.com has gone from a 4.5 to about 1.5. If anyone is still reading this, there is some hope. "
