Room was dim and depressing. The bathroom had no ventillation fan and the toilet ran non stop. Pillows were throw size and flattened. You can hear the people in the above room stomping across the floor. Key card stopped working a couple of times. There was something old, thick and sticky on the headboard of the bed and the fridge wasn't cold. The check in gentleman was very nice though.

Due to a late addition to our party we had to add a cot rental for our room. They had it set up & ready when we arrived, but the mattress was so noisy that it kept everyone awake. My son finally gave up & slept on the floor. When I mentioned it at checkout all I got was a "sorry about that". It was only $15 for the rental, but if you can avoid it stay away from having to use a cot.

The hotel was under construction.

From the outset this hotel looked like a good option for my family's overnight trip to Columbus. It had a pool, received good reviews, and served breakfast. It was a little further from downtown Columbus, but that didn't seem like a deal breaker if the other things were in place. At check-in there was a sign at the front desk saying the pool was, "Closed till further notice." This was a bummer since we had talked the pool up to our 9 and 4 year old. The bigger problem came once everyone started to settle down to go to sleep. Evidently, Our room was right above the pool, and we soon pieced together that they had a construction crew working on it. From our beds we could hear the distinct sound of a saw running, hammering and the general sounds of things being moved around. I walked down to the front desk and talked to the clerk two times. The second time was after a drill could clearly be heard running at 11:26 pm. At this time I was informed that the crew had packed up. I was told the manager was not in till 7 am the next morning. I did pursue this with the manager the next morning. I was told they were under deadline to have the pool painted the next day and an apology was made for our inconvenience. After explaining my dissatisfaction further a 10% discount was offered. I told the manager that a 10% hardly seemed satisfactory. When I proposed other discount rates she told me she could not do those rates because after all I did sleep there.

No more Travelocity or Country Inn and Suites!

Specifically requested 1st floor room close to side or rear exit. Travelocity stated if there was an issue with the request the facility would contact me directly for alternate solutions. I was never contacted. I arrived to check in and was given a 2nd floor room in the dead center of the hotel. My room was entered on at least 2 different occasions even with a do not disturb sign in the key card slot the 1st being only 2 hrs after I checked in while I went to eat. Another was the next night and things were moved to places where I know I didnt put them and I get home after check out and attempt to upload some pictures I had taken and reviewed on my camera after they were taken and prior to what was the 2nd known entry into my room and all my pics from then and some previous pics from other occasions are all deleted and gone. Some of the photos were several weeks old of different non related things and its not possible that they were accidentially erased by me or anyone with me as they were reviewed before the camera was put away and it was not used again until I went to upload 48 hrs post check out!

Pros and Cons

The hotel was beautiful and our room was lovely and appeared clean but both the night staff and the owner were terribly rude. We will not be back to this particular hotel.
