Located in Walnut Creek, Global Luxury Suites at N. Civic Drive is in a walkable area with good shopping. Eugene O'Neill National Historic Site and Benicia Arsenal Post Cemetery are local landmarks, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Contra Costa Canal Trail and Crow Canyon Country Club. Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Concord and Pixieland are also worth visiting.
The apartment is in a larger complex for corporate and personal housing. The complex itself is rather confusing, since everything looks the same. It's pretty easy to get lost in there. However, the pool is beautiful with a couple little cabanas to lounge under; and the gym is very nice. The apartment was quite large with a big kitchen for cooking. All the appliances, including the washer dryer, were great. Parking was a breeze with a secure parking garage and assigned parking. You can walk 15-20 minutes down the street and be downtown with great restaurants and shops. My one main critique of this stay was that repair services were slow when the AC didn't work. When I arrived, I put on the AC and thought the apartment would cool down in an hour or so. However, the apartment never cooled down! The inside temperature soared from 79 degrees to an uncomfortable 82 degrees, and the loud AC unit never worked. I called the Global 1-800 to get the unit repaired, but they couldn't send anyone. So between sweats and multiple showers I went to the pool to cool off. Given it's the summer, they really should have working AC units and/or on-site repairmen to help with speedy repairs. When you're dealing with a "Global" company, you sacrifice the ability to get things done quickly.
