Third and most likely last stay at the Ascot Hotel. After my second stay when the room was freezing, I asked the hotel to ensure their rooms were room temperature controlled. This time, on day one, the temp was 25 degrees with no way of lowering the heat. The second day, front desk came to my room and said that they fixed it and the heating was now definitely off only to find that the room was now 26 degrees! I mentioned this at checkout and they clearly weren’t bothered.

Good hotel, but felt let down after paying extra
The stay was ok, rooms smaller than anticipated. I paid extra above a standard room thinking i would have a better room based off the pictures. However this was not the case. The only thing that looked similar to the pictures advertised was the bathroom. The rest of the room seemed dated and due to it being quite old, didnt feel as clean. The hotels luggage rooms was more up to date. Other than that it was fine, staff was friendly, great location, hotel decor is great. I just felt abit let down / catfished after paying extra

room and decor lovely. Interesting and unique environment with historical roots as bathhouse. Enjoyed breakfasts with plenty of self-serve options. Especially liked easy access to precinct and local sites. bathroom lighting is temperamental: flickers on unaccountably or difficult to turn off properly. Also, when folks play music at night in the city hall square as on the weekend of 20-21, the sound echoes -- albeit muted -- all the way up to room 409 until 2 am or so, although likely out of your hands
