The "Top of the Rock" Tentrr Signature Campsite at Beaverdam Falls:

This is one of four exclusive Tentrr options available. The "Top of the Rock" campsite is situated on amazing ground! It's situated just above the largest waterfall on fabulous high travertine rock, but tucked away far enough to still retain privacy and seclusion from the main viewing area below, which is just a short walk down a gravel trail. The rope bridge is also just a stones throw away. This stellar site has a full frontal view of the main water and creek basins below but is not right on top of the falls, so as to be too loud or too visible. And for the most part you are nestled under shade trees and are at the best crossroads on the property to take advantage of all the views and sites. Siphon-fed water spigot and shower (when working!) are provided along with many extras.

Our Signature sites come with everything offered through a Tentrr Signature Site as well as some cushy extras most do not: Generous fire wood, naturally running water from the Falls (when working!), an outdoor solar shower, small battery fan: 2 battery LED lights, cleaning supplies, mint scented trash bags (to scare away the critters), matches & lighter, fire starters, sponge, toilet paper, environmentally friendly coconut oil body wash & shampoo, bug spray, charcoal, castor oil soap, butane burner, coffee percolator & tiki torches pre-filled with citronella for your enjoyment and clarity! There is also a small amount of utensils, plates, coffee cups & cookware. Bedding is also offered as an Extra. Each site is also sprayed with insect and bug repellant regularly. For those who need special accommodations or certain requests, please ask--we may be able to accommodate. This site is the most private & is a more "kid" friendly campsite. Generally, most guests are trying Tentrr for the first-time or are novice campers, & most take comfort in needing generally to bring only food, clothes or bedding.

If you desire complete privacy, we offer you the option to book our second Signature site through Tentrr, "The Cattails," or to arrange such requests for an additional fee in advance of your stay. This site is one of four through Tentrr, & although this preserve is private and an exclusive property only for Tentrr & Airbnb guests, there may be other campers or activity going on elsewhere by the Falls or on the land. Most guests never see each other, nor are campsites visible from each other. This is on an active preserve & ranch, so Beau is often doing maintenance or farmwork on the property. We do our best to not disturb you & provide you with he best experience possible.

Depending on the weather and vehicle, you normally drive within yards of the campsite. In a two-wheel drive vehicle you may wish to park by the entrance in our designated area. You may opt also for campsite escort, leaving your car and your worries behind, letting us drive you to the site via golf cart--along with your belongings--& letting us give you a proper tour is recommended, especially if you are a history buff! BUT, don't bring too much! Less is more! We want you to enjoy the wonderful view and privacy.

Property Information:

Nestled in the Alleghany Highlands of the Southern Valley of Virginia, Beaverdam Falls is an historic series of waterfalls at the headwaters of Dunlap Creek and serves as the terminus for Sweet Springs Creek. Surrounded by the verdant George Washington National Forest, our portion, the Upper Falls, consists of a constant waterfall of around 40-feet in height and numerous beautiful cascades peppered throughout our creek. The 60-acre private tract of unparalleled Virginia countryside will simply amaze and delight.

Sweet Springs Creek decorates our picturesque private property, and serves as a long trout stream of calcified rock, chalybeate water, and ancient beaver dams. Beaverdam Falls is a rare place for the lack of stone and the centuries of beavers who have left their trace in our creek and swamp, called the Stick Marsh, which has an active beaver dam. Be careful! They do bite!

Beaverdam Falls is also home to an active lick for wildlife, and one can also stubble upon various small ponds and creeks that trickle out of our mountains. The rich biodiversity of the land also includes a gigantic sulphur cave that is as rare as the falls are beautiful.

Beaverdam Falls are notable for not only the clear blue water, but also for the lore that surrounds their history. Gazed on by the Duke and Duchess of Windsor during their visit to America and fished by the likes of Robert E. Lee and even perhaps Thomas Jefferson, many notable people as well as local inhabitants have enjoyed the Falls for centuries during their visits to the famous spring resorts in the neighboring area. We have only one question: Will you be next?
Whether you are just looking to relax in front of an outstanding waterfall, hike in the hardwood forest, swim in the creek, or just to gaze at the celestial stars in stunning black clarity, Beaverdam Falls will not disappoint!

*We welcome all people, races, genders, personalities, etc., & do not discriminate based on any measure. LGBTQ-friendly.

The Space:
Relax in high-style at the top of Beaverdam Falls. Sleep adjacent the whirling & calming noise of a gigantic waterfall & overlook the lower ponds & creek basins from surprising privacy and seclusion. Take a hike--no, really! Choose to walk down to the Falls or view it all from the Rope Bridge!

Guest Access:
This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with farmers, ranchers, and other property owners to offer unique outdoor accommodations on beautiful private land. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature! As a general rule, Tentrr campsites do not have access to electricity and cell service may be hard to come by. You'll have the entire campsite to yourself, as you'll be the only Campers enjoying this piece of paradise.

Each campsite includes a 10'x12' safari-style canvas tent on a raised platform, and you'll find one queen bed or a queen-size bunk bed inside (each site is different, see photos for the exact setup). Larger groups can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that’s provided (you’re welcome to bring your own camping gear too). You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night.

Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. Line the bucket with a CleanWaste bag supplied at the camp (or another appropriate plastic bag) prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. We got this idea from bathrooms used on NASA spaceships, and we've used the Tentrr Loo countless times ourselves- don't worry!

Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.

Camping during Covid-19: Tentrr campsites have always been the perfect solution for getting away from it all. Privacy and seclusion are part of what make our outdoor accommodations unique, and usually all it takes is a quick road trip out of the city to reach one of our exclusive camping destinations. In the age of social distancing, isolated time can still be quality time - especially when you’re unplugged and out in nature - and we want you to know that the Tentrr team and our hosts are working together to make sure you have a safe and relaxing experience. Our hosts have been doing a great job ensuring our campsites are clean and spotless for your arrival. We ask that you do your part as well - maintain social distancing, clean up after yourselves, and leave no trace - so that everyone in our camping communities can enjoy these cherished outdoor spaces.

Interaction with Guests:
Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location on the property.

If a CampKeeper submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the CampKeeper’s property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!

Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your reservation confirmation on Airbnb. If you need to cancel or modify your reservation, please reach out to Tentrr Customer Support. Your CampKeeper is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf. Tentrr Customer Support can be reached at (888) 798-9093 or at
