Stayed during Garland/Rowlett Tornadoes

Pros: Room was clean. Liked the bed and the bathroom. We always like the kitchen area in a residence inn.
Cons: Covered area for loading/unloading passengers and luggage. MUST be rectified.
Location: Original Pancake House. Very good food.
Our stay was the night of the horrible weather and tornadoes that struck the Garland/Rowlett area of Texas. After the tornadoes passed there was a downpour. When we arrived at the hotel the rain was blowing and it was very cold. The first thing we noticed was there was not a porte cochere for unloading or loading luggage and passengers. We could not believe any hotel would lack this. This is the main thing we are downgrading this hotel for during our stay. Very inconvenient and something that should be a no-brainer. Marriott should know better!
