The staff were friendly and our check in and check out was quick. The Lobby and first floor was nice. The other floors halls were hot and stuffy. There was a fan in the hallway and the hallway smelled musty like there was water that had gotten on the carpet. When I arrived my heater was on and it was 101 degrees outside. It took 3 hours for our room to cool off. The elevator smelled like pee and my room smelled musty. My bathtub and sink both were slow to drain. I’ve traveled for the last 7 years due to kids competitive sports and this is the first hotel that I have been dissatisfied with. I will not stay there again.

I didn't care for anything with this property. The online pictures and the entrance is beautiful. However, the room was totally filthy. Not only was the bathroom not clean, the shower and sinks were filthy, the bathroom floor had dirt on it, there was no complimentary soap, shampoo, nothing! Not only that, there was a used, bloody bandaid under the clock that my two year old son found! Totally unacceptable. In addition to that, both my husband and I cut our leg, and drew blood, on the frame support of the bed by just walking in the room. Not safe at all. We went to dinner and immediately checked out right when we got back. No way was I going to allow my family to stay in such filth. Not to mention, the front desk associate had no remorse what so ever.

The lobby and staff at this hotel are above average. They have created a unique, fun decor in the spacious lobby, bar, dining and meeting areas that will greet you when you arrive. Because the hotel is 40 years old, the rooms have a boutique hotel feel and show their age a bit, but we're still appointed well. If you need to be in Farmers Branch or near the Medical Center, you should consider Wyndham Garden Hotel North.

Update Failure

Pros: Beds were comfortable.
Cons: Fire the designer.
Location: Not too much around this portion of I635.
The hotel appeared to have been recently "updated" to a Vegas style hotel. Not something you would expect in Farmers Branch, TX. The rooms also appeared to have been "upgraded" in that same style but they didn't finish the job. The bathroom got a change in wallpaper and a glittery Vegas style mirror. They left the chrome fixtures and the old tub and tile with some fresh caulking which was poorly done.

Business trip

Pros: The breakfast was good and cleaning crew was friendly
Cons: Front desk wasn't very polite or understanding. Stayed at a different hotel for Sunday night.
I came in early Saturday morning instead of Friday evening and just thought they would accommodate me with some time of credit being it wasn't my fault.

Toenail clippings & torn wallpaper - ok in a pinch

Pros: Great decor on 1st floor public areas. Rooms were well thought out. Upholstery and decor are neat.
Cons: Hotel General Manager needs to go thru each room and note what needs to be fixed. Black paint and using an iron on drapery are easy starts.
Location: Really nothing nearby. Location is in a weird area.
Upon entry, the lobby and front desk looked great. Hallway ceiling to the elevators consisted of disgusting filthy ceiling tiles. How much $ would it take to replace those?! Room looked good upon entry. Main area of the room, contemporary photos of Dallas over the nice little desk area was nice. Tv was flatscreen and worked (remote needed batteries). So why complain? Facing the entrance door from inside there tons of chips off of the black paint on the entrance door, doorway and bathroom doorway (and I mean a LOT of chips). The dresser was also chipped up. Fabric cornice cover on drapes needed ironing. LARGE TOENAIL sitting on the floor next to the heating unit – so gross! Floor in that area was dusty, obviously hadn’t been vacuumed in a while. Bathroom ... Black scrapes on the ceiling over the bathtub, wallpaper peeling in multiple places, no exhaust fan, holes in the wall that had been sloppily spackled, electrical outlet plates hung off center showing unfinished parts of the wall, mirror surround frame was stained with splash marks, dirt behind the door, nothing in the bathroom had been updated in decades except tub. At checkout, I was overcharged $50. Showed my confirm with the correct amount they fixed it and issue a refund for the difference. 3 star hotel that could be 4 with a little work & $. Still, if you’re on a budget and can put up with some of these issues, it is better than a boring old hotel for sure! Still I wouldn't recommend hotel to a friend.

So gross

Cons: Tear it down!
Location: It is hard to get on and off freeway.
The bathtub was rusted! Reminded me of a bad old horror movie!

OK. 2 to 2.5 star rating.

Cons: Hall ways and elevators are very dirty.
Location: in a very complex location, even using the GPS, difficult to get out and get back in.
Not a great choice for the name. kind of see mass hotel than class as the name sounds. But OK for a back up plan. I would only stay, if I can not find any other place. Room is 7 out of 10 but over all 4 out of 10.
