Dubrovnik Vacations

Looking for a destination where you can travel back in time but still be able to lounge on the beach? Consider a Dubrovnik vacation package to experience Croatia's gem on the Adriatic Sea.

Major Attractions

Designated as a World Heritage Site in 1974, Dubrovnik offers a wealth of historic monuments and museums. Visit the ancient walls (some parts date back to the 8th century) that famously surround the city to get a bird's eye view of both the city and the Adriatic coast. TV buffs will appreciate that many "Game of Thrones" scenes have been filmed here. Allow two to three hours to do a full circle around the city walls. If you're looking for sweeping views without the footwork, catch a ride on the Dubrovnik Cable Car, which departs from just outside the old city. You'll be at the top of Mt. Srdj—which offers spectacular 360-degree views—in three minutes. Other must-see stops include War Photo Limited, and exhibition of works by renowned photojournalists, and the Franciscan Monastery, home to the third oldest pharmacy in the world. For a relaxing day trip, look into Dubrovnik car rentals and head to the Bay of Kotor, about an hour south of Dubrovnik, for jagged cliffs and blue waters.

Recurring Festivals and Events

Regardless of when you plan your vacation in Dubrovnik, you're bound to encounter one of the city's many festivals. The Dubrovnik Summer Festival runs from mid-July through mid-August and features live music, traditional dancing, theater acts, and opera in open-air venues. Those with a sweet tooth will enjoy the International Festival of Jams and Marmalades during the first week of October. If you're in Dubrovnik on February 3rd, you'll experience the Feast of St. Blaise, a celebration of the city's patron saint, complete with colorful costumes and folk dancing.
