We were only here overnight at the end of a long vacation and were flying out early in the morning. It was just what we needed. Everyone was helpful and friendly. In particular, the front desk staff and the bar staff were great. We had just been to Isle of Skye and learned the story of Drambouie. When we ordered it at the bar, the waiter asked us how we wished it-with or without ice. We told him about our trip to Skye and that we weren’t sure how you were supposed to drink it. He told us a great story about when to put ice in it or not (depends on whether you’re having a blather with friends or just drinking alone) that was fun to listen to and helpful at the same time! We ordered it with ice on the side, since we planned to sit and have a blether until the restaurant opened for dinnner. Made our night. My only regret is not getting the names of the people that helped so I could recognize them here.

Perfectly comfortable overnight stay! The staff, accommodations, restaurant and parking all get their boxes checked. I have stayed here before, and will stay here again.

Far from airport

Pros: Comfortable and Tesco right next door.
Cons: Be more clear that it really isn't convenient to the airport and that should list what days shuttle is available in bigger type.
I paid in advanced for this room, which I will not do again going international. Asked if I had any special instructions, which I told early check in and airport shuttle for the Saturday morning and sent to the hotel. I didn't get a response so figured that it would be ok. I arrived on a Thursday. I could not get a hold of the hotel. So I used Uber to get to the hotel. $30 one way. When I arrived told me my room not ready and they don't do shuttle on the weekends. Showed me on the paper work in small writing. Shuttle ONLY if advanced notice and approved. I was so angry, as if tried to cancel the reservation, I would have to pay another $30 to get back to airport and find another place. I showed the staff where it asked for special instructions and stated they should have responded but they did not. Finally a supervisor, let me check in early. The staff was nice. They even smiled when it was pouring rain, they could not take me to the train station (5mins away) but if I wanted to go to the airport (20 mins each way) they would take me. Said they would call a taxi. That's about how much they like my type of customer. Even the area around the front desk had signs saying RESERVED. So couldn't even sit to wait for my room. Very unwelcoming hotel. Guess if you have your own car, or your company taking care of it, probably a better experience.

Pros: I loved the dark, modern feel.
Cons: The heating/cooling controls for the room were not immediately obvious--we had to hunt for the electronic keypad.
Location: We walked from the hotel to the Firth of Forth and admired the bridge. It was a nice walk! Beautiful park on the way.
I picked this hotel because it was relatively close to the airport, and I found a good price on Travelocity. I didn't know what it would be like until we showed up at the impressive black cube and thought, "Woah!" I liked the dark, modern decor. The rooms were also dark, modern and comfy. The restaurant seemed equally impressive but my mother-in-law thought it was too expensive so we ate elsewhere. At 11 p.m. my husband and I woke up sweltering, and couldn't figure out how to turn down the heat. We could have called the front desk for help but just wanted to get back to sleep, so we opened the window and that worked out fine.

Nice hotel close to the airport and the city

Pros: Staff and the first stay accommodations. Stay there on two separate dates.
Cons: Having been given the same accommodations on our second stay just as nice as the room assigned on our first stay!
Location: Had two places to chose from for dining out one store nearby, namely a Tesco.
Stayed at Dakota two different times on this vacation. The first stay, we were accommodated with an excellent room. On our second stay, the room was not like the first room we were given. It was average and not at like the first room we were set up in. Did not care for the reason given for why the room was not like the first stay! Other than that the hotel is quite nice.
