Centrally located for El Cajon/Santee area, adjacent to freeways and main routes. Also shares a parking lot with a 24 hour Denny's and Starbucks! So no problems with eating or getting caffeine 24/7! Nice rooms, good sized pool & spa. Clean, updated rooms.

It was a late night decision and the front desk man seemed to be relatively polite, but gave me a weird look walking in because of my mini skirt and boots, tattoos and colored hair. I paid with my debit card and requested a room downstairs because my kid was sleeping and id have to carry him in, which he kind of rolled his eyes at, and proceeds to give me a downstairs room but the FURTHEST ONE FROM THE PARKING LOT. It was a struggle to carry my son that far and he started crying. Exhausted, at 9am i was standing outside my car and a maid asked me to leave the property because she thought i was a homeless person lingering. I reassured her the room i just checked out of and i should have reassured her that i make 4x as much as she does.

Cockroach hotel

The neighborhood was not the best and the overall appeal was lacking. Inside the rooms were surprisingly decent but dirty. The floors were swept but needed to be mopped as just walking around in the room left the bottoms of your feet black. The highlight of dirtiness were the cockroaches in the rooms. The staff caught one cockroach hanging out on the wall. They could not find the other one do we moved to another room. A few days later we saw another running under the bed in the crevice. After multiple sightings, we left early and booked another hotel for the last night. The staff was appropriately apologetic but cockroaches are a no go. We had to leave. Never again. Also no consideration for all the dirtiness.

No sleep beginning at 8 am!

If your in the first floor of this hotel good luck getting any sleep once the staff starts cleaning the rooms. Honestly it seemed like they were purposely slamming furniture and their equipment to wake everyone up! The noise was super obvious and exaggerated while they cleaned the 4 units above our unit. Horrible. I would ask for an upstairs room next time, but more than likely I would still be waken up because they would slam the doors really hard also. At one point we just heard them try and open the door they didn't even knock, you could hear them slowly turning the door handle just like it's done in scary movies then peek inside. Horrible first experience!

Hotel met our needs

Pros: It was close to our family we were visiting. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Pool, grounds and overall facility was clean.
Cons: TV channel information.
Location: It is quite a ways from tourist attractions, but it is close to the freeway and only takes about 20 min to downtown except rush hours and weekends.
We had a good experience at this Days Inn. Our room was ready when we checked in, but it was on the second floor. We are both in our 80's and there was no elevator, so the next morning I asked if there was a first floor room.There was and the staff was kind enough to move our belongings when it was ready in the afternoon even while we were out.
