Do not stay here! Cockroaches emanating from the bathroom area, dirty, old room and trappings in general, bed was collapsing, balcony looks out on a noisy freeway, no hot water during our stay, not a great neighborhood and some shady characters staying at the motel, service was okay but look what they're dealing with!

This property is right next to a freeway on-ramp and the freeway is very noisy. Even with the air-conditioning/fan on we could hear the freeway all night long. They are obviously trying to update the rooms by putting in a new granite countertop, but the carpet was old, the room smelled bad, the tub was old and yellowed. The room was dusted and the new counter and sink were clean. The bed was pretty good. This just isn't a place to enjoy hanging out in. The front desk gal was curt on check in. The night manager, however, was helpful. I would not go back.

The Quality Inn is located in a depressed area of El Cajon, CA. The walls and ceiling had patched up holes that looked like a kid did the work. The TV was disconnected by the last guest, and wasn't checked by the cleaning staff. My first night wasn't bad, in fact the Bed and Shower were awesome, but what followed was out of a scene from 'nothing but trouble". I came back from a business event that evening to find that the hotel cleaning staff had removed all of my belongings from the room and piled them in a closet behind the front desk. The hotel had me down for one night instead of two, in spite of my Travelocity confirmation for 2 nights. They claimed Travelocity was at fault but this turned out to be a lie. They offered to rebook me the same room, but I declined because I didn't feel good about the hotel touching and mishandling my personal belongings. Upon checking my belongings in front of the desk manager, I discovered about $120 worth of medications and electronics missing from my suitcase. The cleaner denied the accusation of course. The manager later tried to claim their was a supervisor present during the removal, but could not produce an inventory list with a signature, so she lied about that too. They treated the issue like it was a joke, even smirking at times giving me the feeling that I was just another complaining idiot out for a free stay, or extorting money from them. DO NOT STAY AT THE EL CAJON QUALITY INN!
