Great service, good price

Pros: Friendly, clean, safe, cheap
Cons: probably nothing for the price
Location: Imperial mall at next freeway exit, and a Walmart supercenter nearby. Also a skate park up the street.
I was traveling from Phoenix to San Diego. I decided to stop part way, because of my small child who gets tired on a long car trip. I looked for a cheap place a couple hours before San Diego. When I got to budget the place looked safe and clean, but of course not 5 star since it is very cheap. At the reception I met the nice family that manages and owns the place. I discovered to my horror that Travelocity had somehow made my reservation for the day before. No problem. The great manager gave me my room anyways (free, since it had been paid for previous night) and gave me great tips on local shopping, eating, etc. Even the pool is functional here despite the cheap price. The manager and his family were friendly decent people, interested in talking and meeting people rather than grubbing money. I heard some great stories about his life and family. What a great experience. Yes this place is low budget but no lowlifes hanging around, safe, clean, and friendly. If you are looking for a stopover on Interstate 8 this is a very good deal.

good old place, like from the sixties.

Pros: nice, quiet, clean.
Cons: parking area/ pavement? hey, in the sun, stuff breaks down. all in good time.
Location: as above, plus a really cute girl at the seven eleven down the street!
clean, older place; upgraded, has good channel selection and wifi strength. the folks were very nice; met the cleaning lady. very nice, son too. this is a good old place that has been kept up & upgraded over the decades. close to a Jack in the box, Carls, McD and a bunch of pretty decent mexican places. go again ? sure, no problem.

Not great on this trip!

Cons: gave our room away before we arrived
By the time I arrived the location had given my room away. We arrived around 8pm and requested two queen beds and he had none available. He only had a King and we had to go to another hotel.

An extremely unclean room

Pros: Close restaurants
Cons: Poor breakfast, unclean
This is one of the dirtiest hotel rooms I have ever been in. I am still surprised that this hotel would provide rooms in this type of condition. I'm glad we were only passing through & stayed only one night. They even screwed up the type of room I had prepaid for an didn't have my two queen beds instead just one king bed. Not good when you have your kids with you. Not staying ever again.

Budget Inn and Suites El Centro

Room had that old motel odor. Paint was chipped and falling apart in some parts of the room. Not a very safe part of town, I might add. Yes cheap but not safe. I saw a drug deal go on right in front of the hotel! On my 2nd day there was no cleaning done to my room, at all!! I do not recommend this hotel to anybody. There are many other hotels in the area to choose from.
