An ideal location for family vacationers, hunters, hikers, surfers, beachcombers and for those people that need some time to escape to the Wolf Den Cabin. Relax in this rustic log home, nestled in the heart of the Olympic Peninsula and Olympic National Parks. Come hike beaches and scenic mountain trails drive 5 miles to the Rialto beach. On the property hike 1/2 mile river trail through moss draped maples, enjoy local wildlife and birds, watch otters frolic, glimpse a kingfisher diving for his morning repast, while woodpeckers hammer out a buffet. 5 boat launches located within 5 mile radius on the 4 rivers, for fishing, kayaking, drift boats or canoeing. In the fall the area also offers great hunting, deer and elk. And for non-hunters even just a great spot to gaze at the elk just hanging out in the field near by on occasion. In our rustic cabin it is a two bedroom with loft sleeping areas. Including 6 beds and two large couches. Two bathrooms and two showers. A washer, dryer and old charming dishwasher. There is no cell service, but we do provide a house phone at the cabin with long distance calling and Wi-Fi.

Fantastic
This was the perfect home to be able to gather as friends and family for a preholiday get together. Check in process was low stress and easy as well as checkout. Owners were very attentive to any needs we had. Plenty of space for all and just a short trip to the beach.

A little sketchy
The cabin itself was cute, but it would be way better if the owners maybe cared a little bit more than the bare minimum. There were 10 of us and staying there and between the 2 bathrooms had 1 whole roll and 2 half rolls of TP total. There was one bottle of hand soap in the kitchen with 1/8 soap left in it. And a quarter roll of paper towels. We managed, because it was only 1 night and we were going out during the day, but that is not enough for 10 people. The abandoned cars and super sketchy broken down trailer on a dark road was scary for a house full of women and girls, but that only brought us closer together now that we survived the night. Fun that it was across the street from Jacob Black's house. The owners could market that. Bottom line: adequate toiletries and nicer towels are not that expensive and would go a long way. Cleaning up the property would make it seem less murdery. Some pros are the bedding was clean, the fridge was cold, and there was plenty of space for 10 of us.

Had Potential
Stayed here one night as we explored Olympic NP Pros: Very cute cabin, tons of space / beds, had a sauna (!!), close to Rialto Beach, overall had lots of potential. Cons: Wifi was not working at all, dishwasher was loose (almost fell out when we opened the door), second bathroom is a toilet and shower in the laundry room (not "washer dryer were in the bathroom", but they added a shower and toilet in the side room where there was a door to the outside and the laundry". Pretty bare kitchen but somehow we got the job done. Lights didnt work in the laundry room / second bathroom.

Good location but very dirty
This place is in a great location if you’re trying to explore the Olympic beaches. The wood burning stove inside is nice and cozy too. Unfortunately the place was filthy, floors were covered in dirt and dog hair, the bed sheets were not clean and looked like they hadn’t been changed since the last guest. There was dog hair and sand all inside the sheets. Horrible. I had to change the sheets myself. There were stains on the comforter. It was just gross. There was also a very strong urine odor coming from around the kitchen island. I get that it’s an old cabin in the woods, I’m ok with that, but the bare minimum I ask is that the sheets are changed and clean before I sleep in them.

We loved the location and how big the home was. The ELECTRICAL OUTLETS in our bedroom STOPPED WORKING, so we WONDER HOW SAFE THE HOME IS is. We loved our access to the washer and dryer. A kitchen cupboard door kept falling off, so it NEEDS MAINTENANCE. We loved the quick access to our favorite beaches!!! The towels and bedding in the dryer were still damp. More care is needed to make sure the house is ready for guests. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Damp smells and inadequate barhrooms
The 2 bathrooms were actually 1 bath with a toilet, sink, and and old hot tub with a weird and damaged diy countertop. The other bathroom was a laundry room with a toilet next to an outside door and window that also contained a shower stall. No sink for hand washing. The sink in the bathroom didn’t drain properly and eventually the toilets required multiple flushes and prayers to work. It was inadequate for 4 people and would be horrible for up to 10 or 12. The place smelled damp. The electrical was a mystery trying to figure how to turn on and off lights. This would be a lovely place if a little was invested in it.

Not it.
The Good: Wonderful location, accurately depicted in the description. The beds/linens we used were clean and comfortable. The location was quiet while we were there (although a little strange with the people camping behind the cabin driving through). The Bad: No internet connectivity beyond a single outgoing text that we made it into the cabin (We drove back up the hill to find connectivity when we wanted to search for restaurants, etc.). The bath towels reminded me of those from my high school (thin, tiny...closer to a hand towel than a bath towel). No response whatsoever from the host on any issues we had. The pictured sauna does not work. Without internet connectivity, we turned on the TV to see what was going on in the world...didn't work. The Ugly: Parts of the cabin were not clean. This cabin does NOT have two "full" baths as indicated on the listing (adding a commode and free standing shower in a laundry room with no sinks does not constitute a full bathroom...particularly when the commode is directly adjacent to an exterior door). For clarity, the picture of the laundry room in the listing IS the second bathroom. There is a homemade free-standing shower next to the dryer and the commode is between the shower and the exterior door.

Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities
First I would like to say that the house itself was amazing - we loved the layout, the loft area, both bedrooms were spacious, outside the house there was a space for all 8 of us to gather around the fire pit and there also was a working grill. The property is in prime location in terms of access to beaches, small plaza with a coffee shop and overall it was very quiet and safe. Now as for other amenities, they were far from even being acceptable. Cleanliness- 0 stars. Luckily, at least the bed linens were clean, everything else was dirty. There was pet hair mixed with dust around the floor in the dining area, one of the toilets did not flush properly (it took a very long time to fill its tank with water and if you needed to flush twice you’d had to wait at least 10 minutes), the towels were not fresh and smelled like wet mop, the dishwasher almost fell out from its place when we tried to open it, the washer was not working properly (it started the cycle and then froze). And the most important part - the address provided by Expedia for this property was not correct! The only way to contact the host was only by calling or texting the phone number and it was also not working. I had to call customer service multiple times to ask for the address and the way to contact the host. When I did get the host’s number and tried to call he disconnected and sent me a text message with the address and said that the key is inside the house. Very frustrating experience, not worth the money.

Borrowers Beware
Our story begins as the ten of us journeyed across Washington state having had no contact from the host regarding the check in process. We left on faith that we would have a place to rest our heads at night, despite messages on the app, and multiple calls to a full mailbox. Finally, 30 minutes before our check-in time, we reached a liaison for the host, who told us how to get in. It was a lovely, though musty cabin, with very nice woodwork, and a good amount of space for 10, it’s close to the road, but quiet. What was not quiet was the dishwasher, which falls out from its place when the door is open, and which we had to hold up with a piece of firewood. It does work well however. What does not work is the TV, the landline, the Wi-Fi, the lights in the laundry room, the lights in the loft or the light for the shower. It was fun, discovering what we could add to our list of unusable amenities . We thought the toaster made the list, but it turned out to be the electrical outlets that made the cut. The electrician in our party was amused that the electrical parts of the house were not up to code. There are a few things we would have enjoyed, should it have been provided, like the bottom rack in the refrigerator, dish towels in the kitchen, a bathroom door that closes without brute force, and a few more rolls of toilet paper. Two rolls for 10 people for four days was simply ungenerous. All in all our time in Forks was fun and memorable, and will stick with us for years to come.

Overall I’d return, however there are some unfinished parts of kitchen and the shower was a little suspect. Found towels in dryer, half roll TP. Beautiful designs and compfortable beds and couches. We enjoyed the quiet. Thanks
