Quaint and Cozy

Pros: Location, the lush tropical setting, and the cottage amenities inside and out.: small pool, large hammock,
Cons: The only negative was the mattress on the bed. It creaked, sagged and should be replaced. That said, it didn't stop me from sleeping well.
Location: It is located on the east end of the island, a half mile from the lighthouse. This is the "quiet" end of Sanibel; a lot less traffic to contend with.
We arrived early at 12:15 for our 3:00 check-in, and was surprised to find our cottage ready to go. The place was spotless. The kitchen was well equipped with everything one would need. The cottage was small, but perfect for two people: kitchen with dining table, small living room, bedroom and bathroom. The back door leads to a small deck with table, chairs and umbrella. From there it's a short walk to a small swimming pool and a large hammock (works fine, I used it!). The landscaping is lush and inviting. It is approximately 1/4 mile walk to the beach. Provided is a large wagon to tote beach chairs, umbrella and towels (all provided for free). They also have bikes for use (also free) to explore any of the 30 miles of bike trails on the islands. We were there for two days and used everything! There are only four cottages, so our stay was peaceful, tranquil and very pleasant. Around the corner is a small restaurant, ice cream parlor and several shops. It's only a short drive to the busier sections of Sanibel, with the more numerous restaurants, stores, etc. (as well as heavier traffic). Farther west is Captiva, again, not that long a drive. Of course, all this was during the "off season"; our stay being Aug. 26 & 27.
