A state of emergency in Virginia, and the staff was dealing with a system that crashed early that morning and still wasn't back up when we checked in at 3. Everything was manual, but the staff had developed a system to get everyone their rooms. They had to deal with grumpy customers who were stranded or had no electricity, but they were doing it with smiles on their faces.

We accidentally booked a handicap accessible room which gave us a horrifying sneak peak at what handicap people have to endure at this hotel. When we checked in, they sent us to a room downstairs next the machine room, the workout room, and the pool. Not only was it noisy down there becuase of the machine room nextdoor which randomly makes loud bangning noises, but it was wet/damp, and stunk of what we thought was disinfectant as well. In retrospect, **we think it was chlorine that we were breathing** because within a few hours, my partner/husband couldn't breathe and I had pain in my throat like a sore throat. The carpet was also damp and almost sticky when you walked. I didn't want to take my shoes off except to get in the bed. And the air conditioner was so loud and noisy/rattling that if you did start to fall asleep when it shut off, it would wake you up every time it turned back on. And the room was almost $200/night! At 2am, we called back upstairs and got moved to another room on a higher floor. While not glamorous, it was a totally different experience. In the end, we slept fine in the new room, but were certainly not well rested after repacking and moving in the middle of the night. But the fact that they put the handicap rooms down in the chlorine and in such poor repair, noise conditions, and health hazard is just wrong! We could move. A handicap person wouldn't have that luxury. :(

We thought our stay was great,comfortable rooms,well stocked with supplies. The only bad part was the pool wasnt open but we were told it was covid related.

The noise from the room above us had children in it and it sounded like they were going come through the ceiling. I called the front desk to see if they would call the room and have the kids settle down, they did and it was good for about ten minutes and it started again about midnite it stopped,
