Some of the rooms are quite nice. The one they put us in this time looked like the door had been kicked in and that the room needed painting to cover the big stain on the wall and other problems.

First morning discovered that there was no soap or shampoo in the dispensers. Second day housekeeping failed to clean room and empty trash. Not a grand experience!

I'm old enough to remember when such properties were the latest thing, brand new motels or just several years old. The Guest Lodge keeps up with things after renovation & redecoration. I like that the rooms are a new cosy, but with a familiar layout & a handy frig/microwave. The beds are the best I've found in decades of US & international business travel, including 4+ star luxury hotels --- cloud-like, but very supportive of my car-wrecked back & with plenty pillows. The staff is wonderful --- kind, thoughtful, helpful & caring. I so appreciate their working with my needs when I come up to be "shot in the back" --- by my pain doctor. I always hope to see Wendy at the desk; she's a joy. The beds are the best I've slept on in decades of US & inavel

Room in need of painting including the obvious ceiling patch, some light fixtures not working. Bathroom old, needs lots of help.

Nicely landscaped, friendly staff, very, very clean. Liked the wall container with liquid soap at the sink. And same style container in shower with shampoo, conditioner and body wash, all dispensed at the touch of a button. So convenient. Better than those small samples most hotels use. Anyway, very nice pool with redwood lounge chairs and overhead sun shades. Also, nice conversation areas outside pool with 2 outdoor sofas and umbrellas on 2 sides of pool. Locally owned and operated and considerable thought to this. Older styled rooms well maintained.

I was disappointed with the check-in process. The front desk person said that I needed to give her my credit card because they "still hadn't gotten paid yet". I advised that I already paid through Travelocity & she insisted I was wrong & "that's not how it works". She said they don't receive payment from the place that I booked through. They receive their payment from me. She kept saying "they needed to get paid". I pulled out my phone & read off where the payment was taken from me already. She said it may say that, but I still needed to pay them & there was another guy that thought the same thing & her manager had to explain to him the process. She tried calling the manager, but it was 12:30 am. I told her I have been booking other hotels the same way & never had to submit an additional payment when I paid through Travelocity. She kept insisting I was wrong & that the manager needed to inform me of the process because she wasn't explaining it good enough to me. After several minutes of going back & forth, she finally said she'd go ahead & give me the key to my room & leave a note for the manager in the morning & I could deal with the payment to the hotel at check out. She handed me the key & told me the room number. I asked where the room was located & she said very snarkily, "Hold on, I'm getting to that" & then followed up with "I'm new". New or not, her behavior & insisting I was wrong is not acceptable. There was dog food & dirty sheets on the pull out sofa.
