Hotel was average, clean. Room service and desk clerk were very nice. Location is well centered to the town activities.

Clean

Pros: cleanliness
Cons: Update
Location: Close to places to eat, and very close to the Fort Hood, which is where I needed to be. Easy to get in and out. It was safe.
I had chosen another hotel to stay at but found that I needed a 2 night stay instead of one. The Travelocity representative suggested this place. I was surprised , but was impressed. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was very clean. It was a little out dated, but that didn't bother me. The most important thing is that it was clean. I was a little concerned about the door opening to the outdoors, but I didn't have any problems.

Not a terrible room, but too expensive

the room wasn't bad, the room smelled like cleaning chemicals and it wasn't too comfortable. I've stayed at the Atria Hotel up the road in McGregor the week earlier for the same price and the room was very nice. If you have to stay in the area I would strongly suggest moving on to the Atria hotel.

Change of Heart !!

JUST RETURNED HOME FROM TEXAS! THIS hotel was my FIRST choice to stay at because my plans were keeping me in Gatesville but after some re-search online and going a bit outside the box EXPANDING my hotel search you can DRASTICALLY cut the cost of your stay for a MUCH, MUCH better lodging experience. There is NOT much at all to the Town of Gatesville and after driving through it I'm GLAD I chose NOT to stay here. I stayed about 25 miles outside of Gatesville and paid much, much less and the drive to and from Gatesville was PLEASANT and the scenery was BREATHTAKING. Check out Copperas Cove, Tx EVERYTHING you need to do or want to do is CLOSE by. PRICE played a HUGE factor in where I chose to stay although THIS hotel is cheaper than the Ramada.

Motel review

This motel was clean and the staff was nice. It is an older motel which doesn't make it as appealing as newer motels. But overall it is a decent motel.

Still Great

We have been staying at this Hotel since before I was born. The rooms are nice and updated. Good for a nice and quiet get away.

Carpet smell

We had to open the window to try and get rid of the smell from the carpet freshener. Ran the A/C vent and bathroom vent all night, but it didn't work. Finally had to take a Claritin for alergic reaction. Good place for pets. Big field area nearby. Continental breakfast poor.
