The building is trying to cover up a smell with febreeze - I am very allergic to chemicals and had to air out my room for a few hours. There are no screen on the windows so I had some bugs get in.

It was disgusting. They obviously didnt change the sheets from the guest before us as there was pubic hair and long strands of black head hair on every bed and pillow case. Asked for clean sheets and blankets and lady at counter gave me 1 sheet and said she couldnt give us a blanket. It was 8 degrees outside.

This was the worst Microtel we had stayed in & we stayed in many much better cleaner ones before. Pics on website were misleading. Hotel was old, stale & stinky. Carpet in the common areas seemed like never vacuum cleaned in the last decade. Were given a room which had a smell, compact with 2 qnBeds - small for two people to walk together. There was no MW, carpet was stinky, no bath tub. TV was hung up on the wall right next to bathR door where 4 times I was about to hit my head. The lady on the counter was intensely coughing without wearing a mask, yet was very helpful. Our showing condition of the room, she moved us to a 2-Rm suite with a door in btw with two bathrooms. It was cleaner, had a MW, bathrooms had tubs, yet the fan in one of them didnt work. Curtains on window were not closing completely -some railing problem. The breakfast area was big as a closet, it was grab-n-go - for Covid precautions - but was meager with literally only oatmeal cookies, cereals, and old bananas! The coffee maker was across the frontdesk next to a cleaning room perhaps - which smelled like a sewage gutter, yet the door stayed open. We paid about 90/night! The only good things here: location - downtown Gatlinburg, & free parking. If covid considerations make them shrink breakfast while still claiming one - then why cleanliness is absent, condition is unhygienic, staff doesn't wear masks even when coughing. This place needs extensive deep CLEANING, REPAIR and mgmt with a sense of cleanliness
