Great and beautiful location, but the facilities and rooms are getting very tired, not warranting the high price. For instance calcified and leaky faucets, scoff marks on walls and doors and squeaky floors. This could be a spectacular resort in this fantastic location, but needs a good overhaul.

    Horrible Service
I have always dreamt of staying at Emerald Lake Lodge and felt celebrating my 30th birthday a few weeks early would be the perfect excuse. Unfortunately this hotel lacks in customer service. When you first arrive you park off site in overnight parking and call for the shuttle - in theory very simple as they supply a phone etc however our call went unanswered twice - thankfully someone had been taking the shuttle down to parking and we were able to grab it otherwise no idea how long it would have been for someone to answer our call. The dinner service was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING. Our server ended her shift while we were still eating and did not pass off our table. We waited over 20 minutes with dirty dishes on our table as 4 other servers also neglected to notice us. FINALLY another server came and cleared our plates and I had to ask if I could order dessert. I then asked where our original server was and she advised "Oh she must have finished her shift and not communicated to us". COMPLETELY unacceptable at a 4 star hotel charging what they charge for food. Had to request robes as they are not in the room. Coffee has to be requested as it is not in the room. No mini fridge or ice bucket. Loved the hot tub and lake loop trail but would not advise to stay or eat here. Save your money and just visit for the day as there is a free parking lot for day visitors. Thankfully this was only one night of our 5 night trip in the Rockies.
