My husband and I (a bi-racial couple) stayed here as a little getaway (mid-August Monday-Wednesday). Yes, we got a few looks of momentary shock - but, everyone was pleasant and inviting. Since we weren't there to golf, It couldn't have been more perfect! We literally had the whole resort to ourselves all day. We really enjoyed the hot tub, dry sauna, and pools at the Inn. Just a short walk (or even shorter drive and easy parking) to the lodge, we loved the peacefulness of the outdoor pool that connects to the inside pool. The hot tub outside was amazing! We went up to the sports bar at the top of the hill for dinner. The sunset view over the trees was worth catching! The patio was an extra bonus even though it's shared. One thing to consider - the rooms at the Inn do not have microwaves, but there is one in the lobby. This lobby doesn't have a desk attendant - just a small area to play cards or eat.

Lovely setting

Pros: Large room, great internet and TV.
Cons: Could use some room updating
Location: Golf golf golf
Enjoyable stay. Food at the Legend was fantastic. Excellent views and large selection of golf courses nearby

Needs total update!

This hotel has comfortable beds, but that is about all I can say good about it.  The rooms are in need of a total update.  Our door to the balcony had glass in it that was cloudy(seal gone bad).  The noise factor is bad also.  We could hear every sound outside and below our room.  They let people smoke cigarettes and cigars on the balconies and patios right outside their rooms which travels into surrounding rooms if your windows are open.  The sidewalks, stairs, and windows are falling apart.  The water pressure is bad and the water turns hot and cold on you in the shower.

Outdated decor. Resort fee.

Cons: No free Internet
Treetops was among the most expensive options in the area but we both need a good mattress so we opted to pay the difference. When we arrived we were charged a resort fee that I didn't recall being listed. I wasn't happy about it but paid it thinking at the least we would have wireless internet service. That did not prove to be the case. I'm not sure what amenities it was supposed to pay for. We discovered none. The room was outdated and shabby. There were water stains on the pictures on the wall, holes in the wall, a burned iron imprint on one of the chairs and the chairs did not match. The room was musty smelling and had a huge cobweb hanging over the bed. The coffee maker took at least 20 minutes to brew 4 cups of coffee. I assume that was because it needed to be cleaned. The only nice thing I can say is that the people we dealt with were nice and the rueben pizza from the sports grill was outstanding. This place obviously puts all its resources into the golf courses. Since we aren't golfers, I wouldn't pay to stay here again.

During the winter, enjoy onsite recreation like snow tubing, ice skating, and snowshoeing and return when the snow melts for a round of golf at the onsite golf course. After a day on the slopes, enjoy treatments at the full-service spa, a relaxing soak in one of the 2 spa tubs, and an invigorating swim in one of the 2 indoor swimming pools. For a free ride to the slopes, hop on the hotel's complimentary ski shuttle. At the end of the day, order après-ski drinks at the hotel's bar. Along with a restaurant, there's a snack bar/deli on site. This ski hotel also offers an outdoor pool and a health club. Free self parking is available. A complete renovation of Treetops Resort was completed in August 2017. This 3-star Gaylord hotel is smoke free.
