Overall, we enjoyed the house and it is very comfortable, with a few weird aspects. Communication with Jason was somewhat slow and frustrating at first, but then it improved once we were put in touch with his partner, Theresa. We had to push our travel dates forward two days because of Covid, and I struggled to properly explain our request. When Jason finally understand the request, he did allow us to rebook at no cost which was appreciated. But when we arrived at the property, we had not been given access yet. I had to call and text a few times before we got in touch with someone.
The house has a lot of room and is nicely laid out. It was very clean upon arrival. The mattresses and pillows seem close to new and are very comfortable. However, not all the mattresses have mattress covers/pads which always worries me due to the possibility of bed bugs.
The kitchen is small, but functional. The countertops are painted in a faux finish which scraped off easily. The appliances all worked and seemed in good condition. There were a ton of plates and silverware, but not enough mugs or glasses, and it was missing a few items that would be really useful such as a pair of scissors and small cutting knives. There were no steak knives either, but we didn't eat steak so it was ok. The kitchen was well-stocked with detergent for both handwashing and the dishwasher, along with paper towels and coffee for the Keurig machine.
The paintings and window treatments appeared to be held up with trim or panel nails as opposed to drywall hangers, so we learned to not touch or breathe near these. This didn't impact our stay--we were just really careful not to brush against anything hanging up.
The bathrooms were really clean and well-stocked with toiletries and supplies. Water pressure and temperature were really good. There were no hand towels, but there were an abundance of bath towels and wash clothes so it was fine.
The only really frustrating aspect of the stay was the HVAC system. We could not stabilize the temperature. I tried to program it for a set point of 75 but the temperature fluctuated between 62 and 78. The system would report a temperature of 62 inside when the set point was 75 but would still blow cold air! One day the temperature outside reached 98 and the system couldn't handle it. The inside temperature continued to climb until the sun had set and it had cooled off outside.
