Nice hotel although you need to walk

Great place to get away but not for business. If you don't mind the walk, shopping is close by and so are restautrants. Want to adventure more, subway is very nearby. Because it is not along the main road, taxis maybe be hard to get. But then why need a taxi when your on holiday.

No question -- for our next visit to Hong Kong, we'll be at the Metropark Causeway Bay!

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet, very close to all public transport, wonderful views from harborview rooms, extremely helpful staff
This was our first visit to Hong Kong, and we enjoyed the Metropark Causeway Bay immensely. First of all, the staff --particularly Kiki and Maggie-- were astoundingly helpful, even finding us a double bed when their records did not show it as requested. They gave us advice on Chinese language, great suggestions for public transit, and were responsive to all our needs, even sending a lost article to us in Connecticut. The bell staff hailed cabs for us, gave our destinations to the Chinese drivers, and hauled our luggage into and out of shuttle buses. The hotel itself is bright and very clean, with the check-in desk in a sun-filled atrium up an escalator. The rooms were bright, not too small, and comfortable. The bath and shower were fine. Be sure to pay the bit extra for a harbor view -- and the higher up, the better. The breakfast buffet is great-- one of the best we've seen, and Vic's Bar is intimate and pleasant. Unfortunately, these are the only public areas, but they were more than adequate for us. The location is super. Quieter than in in the city center, full of greenery next door to Victoria Park with all its interesting action. Subway, tram and bus are minutes away. Easily reached by the airport via the Airport Express train and the free shuttle from Central Station.

Good location, great place to stay.

Pros: Quiet
This was a very nice little hotel, with a fabulous breakfast buffet (for an additional cost but well worth it) and a friendly, helpful staff.

Execellent Value but marginal location

This is a very clean and comfortable hotel with excellent views and a at reasonable rates, given the quality of the accomodation. The catch is that it is at the fringes of the main part of Hong Kong and so you must take transit of some sort to go anywhere. Be sure to request an Executive Parlour room which is for floors 20 and up. It is WELL worth the extra money as you have access to a 29th floor lounge with a complimentary cocktail and snacks each evening and an excellent breakfast buffet in the morning. Given the ease and economy of local transit, the extra distance from the main part of the city was not an issue and the rooms are about 1/3 less than those at the major hotels in the Central District.

Great hotel for the money

My friend lives in Hong Kong and recommended this hotel for our stay. Hong Kong, like NYC, is all about the price and the location--and this hotel was great for both. The room was big and featured great views of the city but it wasn't fancy. It was clean, modern, and functional. Plus, the hotel has a rooftop pool and is located right near a good subway stop. All in all, this was the perfect headquarters for our HK adventure. The only bad thing was how hard the bed was. But this is a problem all over Asia so what are you going to do? It was rock hard.

convenient and clean

Good: Hotel is located within 3 minutes of the closest MTR station (Tin Hau). It's very convenient to bus and tram routes as well. The hotel staff was helpful and courteous. View from the pool of Hong Kong and TST is gorgeous. Free internet connection in my room...unfortunately not wifi. Not so good: Pool closes at 9pm and cannot go out to the roof top to admire the night view of Hong Kong. There was one incident where I had a dirty bed sheet (stain). Fortunately, I was able to get the housekeeper to give me a clean bedsheet and was done promptly. The 3 elevators were rather slow and small. I was there in mid-May 2008 and it was hot in the elevator. Needs air conditioning in the elevator.

Hong Kong Trade Fair Visit

The hotel is in a great location near public transportaion. It is worth the extra money to upgrade to a bayview room - the view is spectacular. THe hotel staff are very polite and accomodating. We were impressed at the quality and attentiveness of the wait staff in the dinning room. My wife and I enjoyed the breakfest buffet each morning and foud the choices to be plentiful and excellent. The only negative wew had was the dampness in the room. It was quickly resolved by a call to housekeeping who broght up a dehumidifiyer which ran throughout our stay producing about 2 gallons of water each day. My wife and I look forward to our next trip to Hong Kong and will definetly stay at this hotel again.

Wonderful Stay

I stayed in the harbour view room and definitely worth the money. The room was small but definitely worth the money. The staff are courteous and friendly. Near the subway. The free internet in the room definitely came in handy and the rooftop pool was wonderful. \nVery good value for the money.

Island Delight

You are in Hong Kong so hotels have smaller rooms. Specify at booking that you need a double, if you want to sleep with your spouse. There are no clocks in the rooms. Now for the positives. The Metropark exceeded my expectations on cleanliness. The staff go out of their way to make sure you are treated right. FYI(s): Use the Tin Hau station to get to hotel. We went to Macau and China and booked directly with the hotel travel store. We loved the Big Buddha. Take metro as far as possible and take cable car the rest, the view is spectacular.
