- Disliked: Staff & service
Wants to be great but it's only disappointing. We had to check in late due to weather issues leaving Vancouver however once we arrived we were informed they couldn't find our booking any longer. It was nearly 2AM & we didn't think anything of it when the lady at the front desk put us on the 6th floor promising a great room that she "upgraded" to a Jr. suite. Well our surprise to get to that dirty Dungy room on the 6th floor to see that it hasn't been updated since the early 90s. The view out the window was of the street and overlooking a construction site. Grest upgrade in paradise hey? Early the next morning we brought this up to the front desk and they moved us to the highest floor in a new renovated room with ocean and Diamond head views. MUCH BETTER. That's where it ends on the service front. We had an electric vehicle to plug in, good luck finding security to activate that for you even after requesting 4 times at the front desk & then finding out the manger parks there everyday so that renders it useless for guests. Sadly there was no "Aloha" as everyone we dealt with who was employed by the hotel was either crusty or rude. When checking out there was no questions asked about the stay or final greeting just room number and here is your bill. I'm an elite Marriott Bonvoy member and was told by hotel staff that my stay didn't count towards my rewards program because it was booked "Third party". The third party is expedia who thev are a big partner with. Disappointed.
