There was a leak from the bathroom (under the carpet) to the kitchenette. I informed 2 separate front desk representatives and both said “ok” but didn’t resolve the issue. We had to use bath towels and wear our shoes to get to the bedroom from living area. We had a no smoking room but could smell our neighbors vapors through the vents into our room. We were served a box breakfast due to COVID. Inside the box had a good assortment of items however there was 2 pilsbury cream cheese cinnamon pastries included that when opened both had green fungus. One on top and the other in the bottom. It was unfortunate our first visit to Houston. I can’t recommend this hotel. I’m sorry.

Checking in was fine, however learning that the pool was broken, heater wouldn't work, and then the food at the restaurant was barely edible, the eggs over cooked, everything inundated with salt, vegetables way over cooked, and spending $120 on a meal for 4 children and two adults that was insulting for the quality of food and service. The lobby was undergoing renovations however no signs or apologies put in place. The custodian staff where rude and barely spoke any English and when approached by them in the hot tub area, they were very aggravated and made a scene in front of the kids, all because we couldn't understand them. The waiter in the dining room was inpatient and rushed. When checking out we inquired about the heated indoor pool, quite frankly one of the only reasons we stayed here, and where told that the pool was experiencing issues. No compensation or notice given. A custodial staff that speaks and understands English would be beneficial, especially if they are to interact with the guests. A notice of the pool malfunction would have been expected, and if the amenities aren't functional like the pool, then the fair price of the room should be augmented and reduced as the amenities being offered could not be produced or utilized. A broken indoor pool?! with no notice? The food staff in the evening need to be patient and understanding and the food should be checked for quality.
