I liked the surrounding historical buildings. The hotel rooms, however, are very old and outdated. The room may have been clean, but it didn't look like it because everything is so old. Also, an update is needed in the bathroom. There is no ventilation or fan. That was very uncomfortable. I would think that by some code or regulation that there should be a safety handlebar in the shower, as well.

Loved the history behind it and loved the room. Only drawback is the Amtrak running by. I would stay again but on the other side of the hotel

(Pandemic 2021 Addition) Booked this Hotel because of the proximity to the Great Park Soccer facility in Irvine. First the Good: 1. Very Close to Great Park, you can even bike ride to it 2. The staff is very poker face however they were very accommodating so you need to explain whatever issue you have twice on a different occasion. Yes you heard that correct, if you tell them the first time they will say they can't do anything about it but if you tell them twice then they drop whatever they are doing and fix the issue immediately. It's like management has told them, only do it if they ask a second time. 3. The Silo is very unique and very industrial looking. 4. Pool and Spa areas are OK 5. Walking distance to Denny's, Knowlwood Restaurant, and a Gas Station across the st. 6. 2 miles from Irvine Spectrum which is a must if you are from out of town. Now the Bad: 1. Very musty inside and around the Silo, Windows don't open to get fresh air into the rooms. Back door to Silo stinks a lot. 2. Because of the Pandemic there is no housekeeping until you checkout 3. No Towels in the Pool area 4. Smells like Natural Gas around the Pool area not sure if it's because of a Gas line near the Hotel. 5. Breakfast was served at 7am not 6am and it was too late for us to eat and be ready for our 8am games. 6. The AC was LOUD, could not sleep the first night. I had to turn it off the 2nd night. 7. There is a train that passes a couple time a day. Feels like a mini earthquake

I have been staying at this La Quinta for the last 4 years and I won't be coming back. The staff is always friendly and accomodating, but my room had some issues. First there were cockroaches in the room and one came out of the shower. One night (3am) my airconditioning/heater unit decided to empty its water onto the carpeting with a loud splash. I sopped most of it up with the bath towels. They have made no improvements since being bought by Wyndam Hotels and for the above mentioned reasons I won't stay there again.

I had to check in three times for a four day stay. La Quinta said it was due to Travelocity. So, I'm not happy with Travelocity. La Quinta made me provide an ID and Credit Card and complete a form three times even when nothing was changing. I don't know who is to blame. It is clear that this process is not smooth and customer friendly.
