Property Grounds are well maintain. The only amenities in the hotel are ok. Restaurant was over price as well as the hotel for what’s included. It’s a Boutique Hotel way over price...

Nice Villas

The villas were very comfortable. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Nice little patios looking over the ocean. The eclipse Restaurant was excellent but drinks a bit pricey for the amount and watered down. They advertised two restaurants but only one was opened during our stay. The O restaurant is seasonal whatever that means. The beach sucked. There were a lot of rocks and not very clean. The beach furniture could use some updating as well. The only complaint I have is that there was a wedding on a Friday night during our stay. The wedding party had the whole restaurant for the reception leaving other guest to eat under a tent in the sand. Not many people like eating dinner in the sand. I was not happy needless to stay. Otherwise we had a nice relaxing time. I don't know if we will return though.

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for taking the time to review Villa Montana Beach Resort. Our "O" Restaurant opens seasonally, meaning October through March, we are sorry if you were disappointed that it was not open during your stay. We are happy that you enjoyed your villa, patio, ocean view, our restaurant's food and drinks! We hope you will visit us again soon! Best, Villa Montana Beach Resort Management

An overall good experience.

Pros: Free Internet, Quiet, beautiful grounds, nice staff
Cons: stingy with towels, smallish room
It was a bit tough finding the resort in the dark, but once there we were welcomed by a very friendly staff. We stayed in what was called the hotel, although I'm not sure why because it was similar to many other units--three story, two units per floor. We were "cliffside," which merely means we were on the third row of units away from the beach. My first thought upon entering the "hotel" building was "uh-oh" based upon the faux-painted walls (which really just looked like a bad paint job), poor lighting, and cheap doors and door handles to the rooms. I was greatly relieved upon entering the room (but only after climbing 3 flights of stairs with our luggage--no elevator) to find that it was clean, nicely decorated (though lacking a comfortable chair) and had a nice balcony. The queen size bed was comfortable and we had an assortment of pillows to choose from. The heavy down comfortable was a bit of overkill for Puerto Rico, even in December, but maybe that was because we kept the doors open at night instead of using the A/C. The units sorely lack electrical outlets and for two days in a row the interior hallway lights came on only when a service call was made, resulting in some dangerous stair climbing, even in daytime. The restaurant was pricey and the food was about average. The grounds are BEAUTIFUL, with many comfortable beach-side chairs. When the wind is not blowing too hard there is good snorkeling. There were few people at the resort, so we could enjoy the pool, etc. with no problems. There is a nice exercise room, which I avoided! The staff was generally wonderful. Despite all the negatives, this is a beautiful resort and I would happily go there again.

Not clean and run down

We arrived 10/11/2009 only to find our room run down and not clean at all. The bathroom was tiny and old and had cob webs on the floor. The TV did not work. We checked out the same day after we found a much better hotel to stay in. The beach area is small. Only one restaurant in site with a limited menu - there were also cats lingering around people in the outdoor restaurant - not very hygenic.

Thanks Villa Montana for a successful trip!

Our company recently landed a new client in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico and I was chosen to fly out and introduce myself as their mainland contact. I really had no idea where to stay so I relied heavily on our travel department to point me in the right direction, and that they did. I took a great flight into the Aguadilla airport with no hassle, picked up my rental car and off I went to the hotel. When I got to the Villa Montana Beach Resort, I was sure they had booked me in the wrong place, this most certainly is not the type of hotel we typically stay at when traveling. . On the walk to my room I passed tropical gardens and a pool that was definitely calling my name. I had to remind myself many times that this is a business trip. Once to my room I was surprised by the comfortable furniture and the warm Caribbean colors that were used to bring the outside in. The free wifi was a plus as I prepared for my meeting the next day. I had dinner for one in the Eclipse restaurant which is open to the ocean with a lovely view of the secluded beach below. My dinner choice was hard to come by since the menu was to die for. I selected the Risotto for dinner with Cr?me Brulee Cheesecake for dessert, I highly recommend both. In the morning the front desk staff gave me great directions to my clients office and I arrived on time to my meeting. I was treating the new clients to lunch and since we were so close to the Villa Montana Beach Resort, guess where I took them. The resort was known to them as well as they have come for lunch and dinner before. The lunch was fabulous and the clients were impressed.! Thanks Villa Montana for making this trip a successful one, we will be back.

Great getaway for families and also romance!

Our family went for a getaway to Villa Montana Beach Resort for Thanksgiving weekend. We wanted a quick and easy location with lots of sun and warmth. With Jetblue flying out of Newark, it was perfect. It was cheap and quick to get to Villa Montana from home and only a few minutes from Aquadilla airport. What a treat, especially when traveling with 3 kids. We like Puerto Rico but had never stayed on the west coast. Villa Montana looked like a good alternative to all the action in the east and frankly we were looking for more peace and quiet this time. But the kids needed to have things to do and Villa Montana was the ticket. They could swim, hike, play tennis, horseback ride and snorkel. Snorkeling at Villa Montana is some of the best in the Caribbean and now the kids want to surf. I guess we are up for a return visit there and surfing lessons. My husband and I loved Villa Montana. We walked that beautiful stretch of beach. The villa was expansive and comfortable. We could cook in our villa, and some nights we cooked the kids dinner and then went for a romantic dinner on our own. We went for drinks in the cool ?O? Bar, then had dinner at The Eclipse Restaurant, which is right the ocean and lit with candles and torches. Breathtaking. The food was exceptional, not cheap, but worth every penny. And we were never rushed. We could enjoy the peace and quiet and romance of the evening without feeling that they wanted to turn our table. Won?t find that a most places. We?ll be back to Villa Montana, for the kids to learn to surf and for us to reclaim our beach chair and read another good book.

Pretty but pricey

Nothing worked and the front desk didn't seem to be able to do anything, especially tell the truth. The homeowners of our room would not pay the cable so we had no cable all week but they told us it was broke and every day it was going to be fixed that day. It never was. The rooms were nice but they didn't keep them up. There was construction next door and all the heavy equipment came right in front of our room at 7 A.M. The restaurant was good but the price was horrible. Every day we had to go get our towels from the laundry. I would not stay there again.

Look out for your $$$

we were very surprised with the prices for any of the meals and the surcharges; be ready to wait for your food but it was worth the wait; they also add up the tips to all of your needs;pool was dirty, there is no much of a beach as a matter a fact there isn't a really nice sandy beach, very rocky;front desk staff seemed new and unexperienced.\nThe villas were u stay are actually somebody elses home I'm not sure if this is a timeshare type of bussines underneath.
