The home is beautiful, the layout is terrific, it’s in a great location and I found the kitchen well stocked.
However the cleanliness was bad. The worst was the master duvet cover had a brown spot on it about the size of a golf ball, which obviously I had to wash. The master bedroom ceiling fan blades are covered in dust. The back patio area immediately greeted us with two cigarette butts and many cobwebs that had collected debris. I found a broom in the washroom to sweep things up.
The windows are incredibly dirty. In fact, there is a layer of greasy build up on the window looking out past the dining table where it appears people have grilled next to the window and the grease is building up.
This home has no extra bath towels, no designated hot tub towels and one dish rag and towel. When I emailed “Elk Ridge” which appears to be the management company and asked about extra towels, I was told “one towel per guest for the entire stay”.
I couldn’t locate a “how-to manual” with instructions on how to adjust the thermostat, light the gas fire pit etc. At night there’s a sewage smell in the wash room and when someone flushes in another bathroom the master toilet makes a high-pitched ringing noise that can go on for up to 30 seconds. I emailed all of this to Elk Ridge and received what appeared to be a form letter response with an apology stating they would “take immediate action to rectify the situation”, however the email was addressed to someone else.
