"My wife and I stayed at Old Wailuku Inn for a portion of our honeymoon on Maui in April. The property was gorgeous, quaint but immaculately maintained. Owners Tom & Janice bend over backwards to make sure guests have everything they need from recommendations all around the island, to beach towels, to their INCREDIBLE breakfasts served every morning. While Wailuku/Kahului is not necessarily the typical destination on Maui, there are a lot of great local places to eat nearby and the location serves as a centralized home base to explore the island. It's an easy drive to Paia (beginning of Road to Hana), Maalaea Harbor, Haleakala National Park among other things. We drove all around the island and even after visiting hotels in Wailea and Napili, concluded Wailuku Inn was the favorite part of our trip. Huge thanks to Tom & Janice! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great value with a more local feel than the huge hotels."
