Every unit seems to be different my 'Garden View' unit had two bedrooms, two baths, kitchen, living room, and laundry. The landscaping is beautiful and well maintained. The swimming pools and hot tubs are spotless. The rental rate was very reasonable for what I received.

The website for this hotel suggested that there was a restaurant on-site. In fact, the restaurant is in the next resort (same corporation) down the beach. The activities were minimal, the pools small but well-maintained...not nearly the "wow" factor of some of the outdoor pools at other nearby spots. The staff were all very pleasant; Andrea at the concierge desk was very helpful. Unfortunately, the mattress in the unit we occupied was miserable. Somehow, it was a queen-sized bed (supposedly) that was too short for a 6' tall man to lie on without his feet hanging off the end. It was also broken down in the center. While the condo itself was very nice and well-equipped, it is hard to really enjoy a vacation when a good night's sleep is hard to come by.

Thank you for taking the time to share your review of the Papakea Resort. We do apologize for the less than satisfactory comfort of the bedding in your unit. Should we have been made aware of your discomfort, we have bed toppers that will make the mattress softer or alternatives to make the mattress firm. A beds comfort is a personal preference, but we would have definitely assisted to find your comfort... even if it meant moving you to another room that better accommodate you.

At this moment I have been to the reception desk three times to ask them to fix our phone, and to collect our trash so far none has done that. The third receptionist at 7pm March 25th said that it is not there responsibility and that I must call Aston Management company and of course they are closed. I asked the third receptionist if they even put any notation in the computer and noone has done that. Very very poor service

I apologize for the lack of service you received at the reception desk. Our property is a little unique where all management companies are off property. Should we have received the discrepancies from the receptionists as you mentioned, we would have been able to assist you within the first report. Again, I do apologize and will be sure to address this with the reception management to ensure communication is elevated.

Because this was a Condo, the condition of the furnishing was up to the individual owner. Our unit had owners who keep their unit in good condition.The outside was kept up beautifully. We upgraded because we found out we had a bottom unit when we called the hotel and ended up having a terrific view. However, there were additional fees to pay when we arrived which should have been included in the original price for us to use the amenities and maid service to clean the unit when we left. There was no daily maid service, you received "starter kit" of kitchen and bathroom paper and soap products. If you ran out, which we did, you could pay the hotel or purchase your own to replenish what you needed for your stay. I liked that there was a washer and dryer but I did not know I would have to wash the towels and sheets as well. All fees should be included in the original price and better communication needed such as what floor you would be on, what the hotel would and would not provide.

Thirsty Thursdays is a most free Mai Tais Close to some of the best snorkeling around numerous restaurants within walking distance what more could you ask for

Nice property close to the beach

Pros: Well kept and friendly staff.
Cons: Daily trash removal
My stay was excellent with one small complaint...... Was charged a cleaning fee and the bedroom or bathroom was never cleaned, which wasn't the problem. The problem was, that our trash was never emptied nor were we given fresh bath linen until two days before our check out (our stay was five days). Which became a real issue because we cooked and ordered take out daily. If housekeeping isn't going to empty the trash, at least give directions to the property's trash bins.

Vacation to Maui

Pros: The hotel-condo common areas were awesome. Great location to groceries and beaches.
Cons: Spend a little money and update the bed, utensils, and cabinets. An awesome rating would have been afforded.
Location: I would definitely go back, but I would specifically ask whether the condo recently received room enhancements.
The condo-time share complex (gardens, buildings, hot tubs, Koi ponds, pools, grassy areas, gazebos, and BBQ areas) were awesome. The sunset was awesome. Very very nice place. Also, great location to very nice beaches, island bus service, local grocery store, and little shops. The condo/suite itself was dated. Room Cleanliness was "ok" because: water puddled outside of the patio sliding glass door (very annoying - continuous wet feet going in and out); the carpeting was very old and well stained (probably due to the never ending patio puddle); towels were nice; linens were clean; and kitchen towels, stove, utensils, and refrigerator were clean. It was very nice that they took out the garbage every day - and that they had a bag of ice in the freezer with laundry soup for use. The kitchen drawers and cabinets were yucky: sticky from years of use - did not even want to touch them - old - did not slide well. The Room Comfort was "disappointing" solely because of the bed - the one and only piece of furniture that is truly important for a 7-day visit... and it was horrible - you could feel every spring pushing against your back or shoulder. And the knives (cutlery) and other utensils were woeful - butter knives cut better - everything else was like 20 years old and from K-Mart. Reminded me of a cabin in the woods. If there was a new mattress, new utensils, and some new kitchen cabinets the whole experience would have been awesome.
