Check in/out was easy and the staff were friendly. The hotel is a bit run down and the pool was out of service. Also no maid service the first day and bed never got made on any day.

Dear Jeff, I'm so sorry to hear your stay was less than satisfactory! Soon we will begin a renovation on our property updating several things as well as adding a new breakfast! For future reference, in Kentucky most outdoor pools will usually open around Memorial Day and close near Labor Day. Thank you for your valuable feedback! Clean, except for the bathroom floor. Easy access from the Interstate. Breakfast was a bit sad but they had hot coffee. The price was right for a short stay. Noisy smokers out by the pool til 2 am.

My experience was horrible. They didn’t have my reservation correct and the room they were gonna put my In-laws in who have COPD smelt like a cigarette factory. Cancelled my reservation and went elsewhere. Would never stay in another LaQuinta hotel even if it was free.

Hockey mom.

Front desk staff was very kind and helpful. Close to several big name food chains and gas stations and Lexington Ice.. Nice! A bit disappointed that there is NO elevator (that we could find). While recouping from knee surgery that was not so pleasant. There were no ice machines on our floor. Which meant more trips up and down the stairs. Yay! Overall cleanliness in common areas wasnt the best but livable. Room was comfortable and lived up to our expectations for the price. Will consider again if in the area.

Marginal with problems

Pros: Nothing stood out as likable.
Cons: House phone in each room. If you must secure the other building entrances, use a keypad # that can be given to visitors.
Location: Just slept and left.
My room was in a separate building out back requiring a key card just to enter the building...inconvenient for visitors since they can't come up to your room, they have to call you first to come down to let them in. Hopefully you'll have a cell phone with you as there was no house phone in the room. Hence just to ask the front desk clerk a question, you had to walk to the other building. On the other hand, my building at least had hot water. A sign at the front desk indicated there were hot water problems in the main building.

Mistake - big mistake.

Pros: The afternoon desk clerk, John. He was helpful.
Cons: see review
Location: There is a Cracker Barrel nearby -- and that's about it.
I booked this hotel by mistake -- I had meant to rebook the La Quinta that we had stayed at a week prior (Lexington South/Hamburg, 15 minutes north of this one). This hotel is old to say the least. The place is dark, dated, carpet stained and the room reeked of cigarette smoke. There is no elevator in the 3 story building. It is in need of a complete renovation - perhaps a complete tear down and rebuild. The day staff was apologetic but helpful (carried our bags up the stairs and provided me with Febreze to spray the room down which helped little). The morning staff was mute -- didn't say good morning, hello, didn't ask if he could help - nothing as I handed in my room keys, the Febreze and looked over the breakfast choices in the lobby/breakfast room. If you have to stay at a La Quinta - stay at the one 15 minutes north. There is such a contrast in the condition of these two sites of the same chain it is ridiculous.
