Excellent staff, great location, clean, nicely furnished rooms, nice breakfast service ... but ...
Walls are paper thin ... just read that the property was recently remodeled and it was obviously poorly designed to begin with. I was on a second floor room - started to fall asleep around 11 pm when I was awakened by a screaming toddler in the room to the left ... not uncommon ... but what was unacceptable was that it sounded like the child was IN my room ...in go the ear plugs and honestly not much improvement ... so I layered that with some patience and like a SNL comedy sketch - I heard the deep moans of a couple having sex ... honestly, one should have a modicum of privacy when they’re in their hotel room and I felt bad for them that they were Unknowingly, inadvertently sharing their pleasure with the surrounding Rooms.
So down to the front desk I go ... explain the situation ... and my request for a new room was granted by the very sweet, very helpful front desk clerk. So ... transfer to the first floor room ... get settled ... the silence is deafening ... 1 am sound asleep ... mini crisis averted ... 5 am ... STOMP, STOMP, STOMP ... repeat 20x ... mix in the sounds of about 3 small children having a great time running back and forth above me ... toss and turn for a couple of hours ... yay ... breakfast is served ... cool pancake machine ... press the button 2 pancakes in a couple minutes.
So the lesson going forward is “newly renovated” = suspect building.
