Costly WiFi. Walkable to the subway. Starbucks is next door which is a good alternative to an expensive breakfast at the hotel.

The staff was extremely accommodating to our travel needs. We arrived early Saturday morning and the attendant identified an available room before the afternoon check in date. Every staff member we encountered was very friendly and helpful with dining recommendations. The rooms are extremely clean with modern facilities. The hotel is 2 blocks from the Killburn subway station so travel to all of the area's attractions and Paddington station for the national rail lines was very easy. I highly recommend staying at this hotel when visiting London.

Out of the way, but still workable

This hotel is nice but probably not as nice as most Marriott hotels. It seemed a bit cramped. Hotel staff was polite and generally helpful. This hotel is in the Islamic section of London. As a result there were many Middle Eastern type tasty restaurants in the area - Persian, Afghan, Turkish, curry. This hotel is nowhere close to any sightseeing for tourists. However the nearest tube stop is a short 5-10 min walk. The Bakerloo line there will serve you well. You can go direct to Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar square, and the London Eye. The bus line that runs in front of the Hotel runs direct to Marble Arch, where you can catch various sightseeing buses. We stayed for 6 nights here and getting to the sights was no trouble at all. So if you are a tourist and this is the only hotel available to you don't worry about the location, you can get around that. The hotel gouges quite significantly for wifi, but there is a Starbucks just up the street about 1 minute walk. You should consider upgrading to an Executive room. With that comes an extra 150 pounds per day, but also free in room wifi, and free access to the Executive lounge on the 7th floor. The executive lounge has free wifi, computer, printer. Also breakfast every day, free soft drinks and water as much as you want, and in the evening they have free beer and wine till 8 PM, as well as free hot "snacks" which could substitute for dinner. A family of 4-6 could stay in one executive suite and if you consider breakfast ordinarily costs 18 pounds/person, wifi cost 15-20 pounds/day, and then having the hot snacks and drinks. It could be well worth your while to upgrade to the executive suite. It's the best thing we did. Overall it is a comfortable hotel and I would stay here again if I could not get a more centrally located hotel. I think it's a bit overpriced for what you get, but I guess some of that is just London.

A good hotel in an area of London without many hotels

Pros: Close restaurants
Cons: No free Internet
We stayed in the Marriott Maida Vale--having looked around to see what hotel options there were in the area. This is a largely residential area, so there are not many hotels. Thankfully--there is the Marriott. The only complaint we had was a very bad mattress on the bed. When we raised the issue with the hotel staff, they were very accommodating, and placed a board between the mattress and box spring which GREATLY improved our sleeping comfort. The hotel would be improved by adding free Internet. As of Dec. 2012, you had to pay for access.

Excellent location.

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
Cons: No free Internet
The hotel was located centrally and had easy access to the tube station. Also there are handful of good restaurants in walking distance including star bucks near by. The irony is that star bucks have a free wi-fi and not this Marriott Hotel.

Well Connected Hotel

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
Cons: No free Internet
Very convenient location from the hustle bustle of the city with easy access from Kilbern Park Tube station. Less than 5 minutes walk. The room is good size, customer service is nice. However, do make sure they log your requests for Taxi in their entry book - once they failed to provide us a taxi in time because the person who took the request failed to write things down. Old carpet in the room, but OK for the price we paid.

Great hotel in a great location!

Cons: No free Internet
Very clean hotel and the location for the money couldn't be better. Supermarkets on the area and a refrigerator in the room helped lower the high cost of eating in London. The room was big enough for four, the staff was friendly and helpful and the super close tube station made getting around London a breeze. No free internet was disappointing.

Everything was great!

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet, tons of bus lines and a tube station, super clean, great staff, great rooms
Cons: No free Internet, no free local calls
The hotel was absolutely great. The room was big enough, super clean everyday. the staff was helpful and polite. The only gripe i have is it may be the only world wide hotel without FREE WIFI and local calls. GBP20 for 2 hours of wifi and a local call to a cab service 2 blocks away. Anyone traveling with a teenager, knows you need wifi access. Other than that, two thumbs up. Cheerio!
