Its an old building, carpet is worn, stairs are steep. The room was clean, efficient. No real customer service. The woma. I called to confirm my reservation did not seem to understand English. They should provide beach passes for guests as only local residents can walk on the beach across the street.

This is a very old hotel. The furniture was horrible. Bed was very uncomfortable and the chairs were just old kitchen chairs. No rugs on floor and hallway rugs were filthy. The bathtub stopper was broken and when I asked for a new room they lied and said the hotel was full so they couldn’t move me. In fact, I could see in line there were tons of rooms. The new room had a broken bathtub as well!

Great location! Steps from the beach. Only thing we did not like was the uncomfortable bed and limited amenities.

Horrible!!! Don’t stay at this hotel

The radiator in the room was not working. Room was ice cold for New Years celebration over night stay. We called to get the radiator repaired to no avail. We checked out quickly due to the fact that we were freezing in our room. Complained to the staff on the way out. They did not care at all. They did not even bother to provide an option to change our room.

I had high hopes

Location: Not much, pretty dead. stay on the west side!
I really wanted to like this place, because it was affordable and so close to the beach. Sadly, besides the nice lobby and the restaurant, not much else about this place is nice. -Hotel offered a text messaging system to let you know when your room was ready, but that was down, so room was actually ready while we were waiting around. -All of the luggage storage is an open room, so didn't really feel safe leaving much in there and had to take wallet etc to the beach with us. -The floors are crooked, mainly in the hallways. -The floors in the room were really sandy. -The beds were super hard like sleeping on stiff boards. -The hot water in the shower would only be at half capacity so you had to choose if you wanted full pressure (cold) or hot water (half on) -We did like the food at the Bar and Grill, however the service there was sub-par, sometimes you would be sitting for 10 min and not see staff at all. Overall, we were able to stand it for one night but i dont think I could have stayed for much longer. If I return to Long Beach, I will look for something on the west side where there are actually more bars and restaurants.
