Tucked into the canyon, just 10 minutes from the beach, this charming cabin is nestled within the Santa Monica Mountains and is complete with hiking trails and cafes within walking distance. UPDATE: Topanga’s road to the beach is closed for mudslides but there’s 2 alternate canyons to the beach each taking approximately 30 mins..
You have the entire BOTTOM LEVEL of this A-frame which includes private entrance, large enclosed front patio with ceramic Big Green Egg BBQ, parking space, curated vinyl collection, yoga mats and glorious sunsets. Refrigerator and kitchen have everything you need to dine-in and long-term rentals have laundry access. Explore the trails right outside your door, or head 2 miles down to the kitschy town center to enjoy music, organic tacos and art galleries. The neighborhood donkeys are friendly and the peacocks always put on a good show. This is the perfect getaway for someone looking to write, escape, relax and recharge.

Cute little place
Truly enjoyed staying here. It was a change up from the busyness of the city. The highway up from the canyon is an interesting drive and different from the city freeways. An ocean beach is a short drive down the canyon, where we spent most of the day hanging out and watching the surfers. Cute restaurants and shops along the canyon highway. The place was cute and clean. Such a nice little patio to sit and have a glass of wine at the end of the day. Would definitely consider coming back and recommend it.

Disappointing, Misleading, Not for More Than 2 People
According to Vrbo's recent "Only Your People" ad campaign "as a Vrbo guest, you always have the whole place to yourself....'Only Your People' highlights the fact that Vrbo only allows private, whole homes on its site and app." This Vrbo property violates that as the (pleasant mannered) owners live on site directly above you. Hear all the thudding of footsteps overhead, the voices of the family and their guests, the sounds of people going up and down stairs, doors sliding open and shut, a dog barking every time you arrive or leave, the dishwasher, blenders, etc. Just because a listing states it can sleep 4 people does not mean it should. This place should be 2 person max. The remodel is sub-par and the kitchen was lacking. The utensil drawer was unsecure and nearly fell on my feet upon opening. If 4 of you want soup or cereal, too bad, there's only 3 spoons. Good luck hunting around for knives and other normally stocked kitchen items. There's no pepper, no cooking oil, no bare essentials, no large stock pot (to make noodles, for example), etc. Only 3 spots to sit at the table, staring at a blacked out window. The view of the canyon from your deck is entirely blocked by tree growth. But there is a record player. The host says in other reviews "You could have just asked me" but there are some things you shouldn't just have to ask for. The listing states "Explore the trails right outside your door" which is false. Trails are NOT right outside your door. Expected much better.

Unique Location
The property was set in a very tranquil location. Close to several hiking and biking trails, the beach, and other places of interest. We loved the decor of the property. If we had any issues or we needed something in particular (we needed an iron to press some of our clothes for a wedding), Melinda was easy to get in touch with and quickily addressed our needs. It's a great place to stay.

Month on Paradise Lane
Melinda and Jim were wonderful and gracious hosts! They have a beautiful spot tucked away, great for a deep sleep and place to unwind. I loved the records, outdoor space, views and comfy bed. I really appreciated using the laundry since it was a long stay and I found the hosts very flexible and laid back to interact with. I definitely recommend!

Quiet Getaway
This property is tucked away from the busyness of Los Angeles. It allowed us to have some quiet downtime in the evenings after our busy days exploring the LA area. Accommodations were simple but exactly what we needed. Host lives onsite which is handy for emergencies, if needed, but didn't hinder our desire for privacy. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Magical Stay
If you want a place that takes you to a world of relaxation and calm. This is it! We walked into the space and we instantly felt cozy. The decorations and amenities are thoughtful and beautiful. From the starry curtains to the record player (stocked with rock, jazz, and island music records). The outdoor sitting area was perfect with a wonderful fire pit and grill. Melinda is a fantastic host, super responsive and kind. We felt well taken care of and look forward for o visiting this space again.
