It was a quaint older hotel with the charm of a bygone era. It was updated and freshly painted and VERY clean. We really liked the old world feel of this boutique hotel. HIGHLY recommend this hotel.

They could add more to the breakfast section. It was very basic. Even fruit and flavored creamer would make a huge difference.

Good enough, great location.

This hotel provides a typical old California experience---old carpet that needed to be replace years ago, staircase that slopes in scary ways making you nervous that it might give out some day, and difficult-to-reach plugs for charging devices. That said, they have free WiFi, free light breakfast items, a great location near the Santa Monica Pier, and relatively low prices.

Just pay more to stay somewhere else.

The hotel staff working at the front was so rude, tried to tell us we couldn't have 3 people in our room even though our reservation was booked at that size. Tried to charge me for a second room on the opposite side of the hotel then after a half hour of arguing with him we finally got our original room we booked. The hotel is run down and doesn't look like it's been updated since the 80's. Only thing enjoyable about our stay here was the workers at the valet stand. They were the 2 nicest gentlemen! Definitely made our trip.
