Night attendant checking us in was not very friendly. Also, we were told there was a free, complimary complete breakfast every morning. But there were no eggs, cereal, yogurt, or bananas. It was more of a pastery assortment with assorted beverages. Good point: I can no longer sleep in a bed due to health issues and must sleep in a recliner. The room had a comfortable chair and foot hassock and extra pillows so I was able to create a make-shift recliner to sleep in.

Ugh !

Rooms are very small , fridge was broken, all vending machines were not stocked , and to top it off there was no water to brush my teeth or shower due to construction

Don't waste your money

Pros: There was a mini fridge in the room. That was the only plus side to the room. Literally the only good thing.
Cons: Everything! All of the rooms need remodeling with new carpeting & new beds & new bathrooms. The place was a dump.
Location: No clue what was nearby. We checked in, tried to sleep and then got out of there as soon as possible.
So we had to book the room last minute. Originally we were driving home the same night & that changed at the last minute. The room rate was overpriced for what we received. Supposedly there was free wifi but the front desk never bothered to include the password with anything I was given when I checked in. Nor was it in the room anywhere (like other hotels I've stayed at do). The room was stifling hot when I went in and it took the AC hours to get it down to a comfortable temperature. The carpet had a huge stain on it when you first walk in. There was what looked like a dinner table shoved against the AC unit. I guess that was supposed to be a desk. It took up a lot of space and required moving just to get to the AC unit. The bathroom was not clean. It was run down....there was grout missing between the tiles in the bathroom (so there is probably mold since the tiles aren't sealed properly). There is no exhaust vent in the bathroom so showering with the door closed is nearly impossible. The beds are old and uncomfortable. The free "deluxe" continental breakfast was a joke. It had a waffle maker, some small muffins & bagels & some fruit loops. Not what I would consider deluxe. Also nobody bothered to inform us that the hotel is right by train tracks. The train came through 3 times the night we were there. It sounded like it was 5 feet outside the door. Don't stay here. You won't get any rest and you'll feel dirty after staying because the rooms are not clean

Great Hotel, Great Location, Great service

I have stayed at this hotel before, and I will keep going back when visiting Virginia. The service is 1st class, with nothing being too much trouble. The rooms are clean, well appointed, great views, and very quite. The Breakfast is very good, as always. I really like the location, as it is away from the hussle and bussle of other places, I enjoy quite peace of mind in Marion. I am going back in a week, and know that the hotel will agian be a great place to stay. Very Friendly Staff.
