I not to give a bad review but this is horrible. I chose this room because it had a living area and more space for the price. At $75 a day I understood that the accommodations would be more of an older feel. I understand it's an older building. What I did not like and will cause me to never return is the fact that our water heater kept going out. Instaed of moving us to another room they opted to send the maintenance man 3 times in the 3 days we stayed. Horrible Experience!

Old hotel that needs updating

Needs new beds, new flooring, new bathroom fixtures. Needs to be updated to their current rates. Will not consider staying at this hotel in the future. The fact of having to show your room number to the front desk to be able to get coffee and/or a continental breakfast is ridiculous since there was very few people staying at the hotel.

Friendly safe and clean

Staying in a gated, resort property near the border made me feel safe. Also, staff was very friendly and accommodating. :)

Almost Perfect

Pros: Good value. Spotless, spacious rooms. Quiet. Wonderful people.
Cons: Bacon or sausage at breakfast would be nice, but egg and bean tortillas were good too.
Location: Close to many restaurants. Convenient crossing into Mexico. Lots of shopping and Mexico Experience at Progresso. Bought fruit at good prices.
Some of the cleanest rooms I have ever seen! We had a group carrying Christmas presents to three Churches in Reynosa and Doreteo Arango Mexico, and this hotel was convenient for crossing into Mexico and for shopping at Progresso, Mexico. We had 2 double rooms and two of the smaller King Suites. Picked grapefruit right outside our room and ate it for breakfast. Free breakfast was OK, but the nice lady cooked us some special treats. Everyone was friendly, nice, helpful, and happy. Our room was in the back near the grapefruit orchard and was very quiet. The hotel is spread out over a large area and is adjacent to their RV park. Our room had a full kitchen, nice sitting area, lots of storage and closet space, and a safe. The restaurant was large with home-style food. 7 of 10. The abundant grapefruit was fun to pick and encouraged within limits. The desk clerk recommended a Mexican and seafood restaurant nearby, and it was excellent. Fairly good directions too! There was even an active ballroom with live music if you like to dance. Couldn't be much better.

A Great Surprise!

I had passed by this hotel a number of times, but I had never stayed there. I changed that last week when I stayed there for business. I was very surprised to see the size of the room! I had a suite which had all of the comforts of home. The rates were quite cheap in my opinion, making it an excellent value. They have a huge pool which I did not use, but it seemed quite inviting given the south Texas heat. I will definately stay here again.
